  6. From one Pete to another...I'd bank on gasket. You dont seem to have any other motor issues...Good luck!! Pete
  7. Expand your horizon and make for other models....like a Suzuki Eiger, 05. Haaaa yes!!
  8. Oil Capacity, 2.3 qt.....I do believe. Thats the first thing I'd check.
  9. 1. Take the timing chain tensioner out. 2. Pull the cam cover off. 3. Remove the bolt from the cam and the cam gear 4. Remove the bolt that holds the side case and flywheel to the crank. 5. Pull the stator side case. Watch the little alignment tubes. Remember how the bolts came out, some are longer than others. 6. Pull the flywheel. Flywheel puller. 7. Take the chain off the timing gear on the crank, put on the new one. The easiest way to get it up to the top end is to drop a piece of wire down through the head and tie it on. Once you get the chain pulled up, tie to the frame to keep the chain from dropping back through. 8. Put the flywheel back on. 9. Put the side case back on,the magnet from the flywheel will grab the coil on the side case and the flywheel will jump out as you almost have the side case on,If everything is aligned properly to start with this won't be a problem and everything should slide back together. 10. Put the crank bolt back in and torque it. {Shop Manual for settings} 43ft\lbs?? 11. Turn the flywheel over to get the timing mark in the window and reinstall the cam gear. 12. Check your timing marks. 13. Reinstall the cam bolt Torque it. {Shop Manual for settings} 43ft\lbs?? 14. Reinstall the cam chain tensioner. 15. Check timing again, always wanna be certain!! 16. Put the cam cover back on. 17. Cross fingers 18. Start machine.....
  10. Ok, saw the pics. On the primary, look and see if all your "rollers" are there, should be 8 of them. If so, I'd just get a belt. If you need help on the belt, look at my 05 Eiger thread on here or hit me up. UA 400 Carlisle Belt Number
  11. Actually Dayco belts in my opinion are junk and wear very fast, that is the correct belt, also fits the 05 model. I got a Carlisle belt instead, so far so good, only been a week on the Eiger, but have used them before, I will look to see if I can find the belt number if you need it. If you want to go to a dealer, they run up to 150.00!! Your primary and secondary may not look like they line up, but remember, they both go apart and come together as the unit runs. I really think it was just a cheap belt. Pic would be good, shoot me some of the primary, I wanna see if it is like my 05, if it is I have another suggestion we can try\look at. Pete **I see the pic. thing is not working, if you wanna email them to me feel [email protected]****
  12. No, you can not get it on that way...impossible, I know for a fact if you have a 05 Eiger 4X4 automatic you can not put it on that way, show me a vid, then I will believe. Here is the correct and only way...after you get the aluminum cover off, use two of the bolts from the cover and screw them into the two holes towards the center of the secondary/ driven sheeves. turn them in until they just barely bottom out, you will see the secondary expand apart, the belt will also become loose in the process. then take the shaft nut off of the primary and off of the secondary, both sheaves will then slide off together, you can do it by just removing the primary and pulling hard on the belt, I suggest you remove both so that you can wash all of the components, then put it all back together in reverse order. you will have to find a way to hold the sheaves when taking off and tightening up the shaft nuts. they torque to 83 ft lbs. for an eiger. with the primary and secondary back in place with the new belt, then remove the the two bolts allowing the secondary to come back together, spin the secondary clutch counter clock wise to situate/ tighten the belt. Any question feel free to ask, it took me a looong time to get this, I will be more than happy to help in more detail if needed.
  13. Just getting the belt over both the secondary and primary, seems so tight, do I need to take 1 of them off first, I can not get the belt on. Thank you!---Pete
