How many lights (watts) can I mount on a 150cc ATV?

(I don't have manual and there isn't one on the internet)

It's a 150cc ATV, automatic transmission, automatic starter, with zero electric devices.

I have to mount at least some front/rear lights. But for how many watts should I aim in total on entire ATV? You know, for example there are 10/50/200 Watt lights. But it's impossible to order some, when I don't know if I should keep entire ATV under 100 Watts? Under 500 Watts? Under 1000 Watts?

That all depends on what brand atv it is, does it have a battery?

Most bikes are set up to be able to power what there designed for. So if your bike has no design for power out put other then to keep a charge on the battery then anything you connect to the battery may drain the battery a lot more since the engines alternator will not be able to replenish the draw on the battery form the lights you’ve added.

It has battery. No idea about specific model, as it's pretty REKT.

From the mounts on the chassis I can tell, that it used to have 2x front headlights (light bulb), 2x tiny front fog lights, 1x rear braking light, 4x turn signal. + some speedometer etc.

If I go with LED lights, how many watts combined I can put on that?

Typically ATV incandescent head lights would draw about 35 watts each. If it used to have two lights, that is 70 watts. I would use a 50 watt LED light bar to be safe.

That light bar will be far brighter then the original head lights and you would be safe that you won't overdraw the electrical system.

Regarding front lights. I saw, that there are LED flood lights and LED spot lights.  I was thinking about putting there 1 flood bar (for close) + 2 spot lights (for distance). Of course keeping it around 50 watts. What do you think?

Per the other's recommendation, look on ebay for some quad LED lights.  LEDs have such a lower current draw that you can replace any OEM light with them and still be within operational design for the electrical system.  happy wiring!

LED lights are the way to go you can mount up to 35 Watts on front without hurting your battery nor your charging system and as cheap as up to 16 $ (chinese stuff) they don't last too much bur for the price..................

      Hi all, I was gifted this Bayou but she's been sitting quite some time. It won't crank using the factory start button but when I jumper the starter solenoid it cranks but there is no spark. The key has power coming in on the white wire and when turned on supplies power to the brown wire coming out.

      I guess I should start with testing the pickup? I heard I may be able to jumper the wires coming from the pickup with an LED bulb and it will flash? I noticed in the manual that it should have around 110 ohms resistance so I'll check that as well. One thing I noticed was that the starter circuit relay has power on one of the black wires with the key on- this doesn't seem normal as I'm assuming the black wires are grounds? I think one of them comes from the start switch, travels through the starter circuit relay and then grounds the starter relay?
      Mine is a 1991 so it has the 7 wire CDI (ignitor) and a 2 yellow wire alternator ( as opposed to the later 3 wire type ) with another 2 wires for the source coils (black & red wires ). The pickup wires are blue and black I do believe. Any help appreciated and yes I will test the pickup ASAP.

      I'm trying to understand how the system works and I don't understand what the yellow / red wire from the kill switch does- I assume it gets grounded when the kill switch is "on" and therefore grounds the CDI so it can't activate the ignition coil? I noticed in the diagram that that yellow / red wire looks like it may be grounded by the ignition key switch when in the "off" position?
      I also don't have 12v power at any of the wires going into the CDI- doesn't the CDI need to be powered? I also read on this forum that someone used a GM HEI module in place of the factory CDI just to test it for spark- does anyone have any info on that?

      I hope I'm not missing something simple!

      I have a been given an old suzuki ltf4wd. It goes, but I think it has a problem. When I hit the starter button, the starter turns quite well for about 10 seconds then it bogs down a bit, and then the motor starts to turn over. Is that normal? I am used to engine turning every time the starter is engaged.
