I have an 04 Yamaha Kodiak 450 that I recently got running. When I got it, I noticed it was missing the right headlight wiring connector that the lightbulb goes into and plugs into the wiring harness. I bought a replacement, a Chinese generic part. When I first connected it, it worked fine so I didn't think much about it. A few days later, I went to move my bike after it got dark, I turned the lights on and that side didn't have low beam but had high beam. I thought maybe the light blew or something. The next day I go look at it, still no low beam. While I had the lights on, I started noticing smoke. I no l immediately shut everything off and ripped the wiring off the bike. The wires were completely fried! Thankfully this happened when I wasn't riding, and had the rack and front cover off so I noticed it immediately.
I wanted to give you the backstory on what all happened. To give warning to others who have purchased these cheap harnesses and to ask this:
After all that happened and I was thinking on it, it made me wonder if this happened to the previous owner and that was why there wasn't one on the bike when I got it. What should I look for that could possibly be overloading that part or what? Anyone have any ideas?

Okay, so I have a 2002 Rubicon 500…bought it last year and it sat for several months until I put a new rear axle in, FINALLY got that done and was super excited to finally have my wheeler going, just to notice a strong gas odor. Popped the seat off and sure enough, pouring gas from the carb overflow. Fast forward a few more weeks and get the new carb and get it in, no leak! Yay. Except now I have no spark. 😒 I’ve tried another plug and checked and am getting no power to the coil pack. I’ve read and read and mostly what I’ve found is ECU, which is fine…but I like to exhaust all avenues before buying the more expensive parts just because I don’t wanna spend the money and it have ended up being something simple that I overlooked because I was trying to rush. 😂 I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I read on another post that someone had similar issues with theirs and it was the sensor on the side of the carb, just a thought since this literally happened after I put the new carb on. It also displays “- -“ on the display screen where it should show the gear position.

Ok so I bought the 05 brute force and after putting about 60miles on it I have some concerns.
The engine seems to run REALLY HOT, like almost burnning my legs through my jeans hot but no warning light comes on and it doesnt seem to "act" hot is this normal, does it have any saftey feature to prevent over heating or heat damage?
It also seems to have a slight miss, or hesitation? When you slightly crack the throttle open and hold it at a steady RPM to give it a slightly higher idle it will run smooth for a couple seconds then miss and sometimes backfires. It also seems to sometimes have a hesitation if you jump on the throttle, what could cause this?
Also a couple times when shifting from reverse to high it sounded like it got hung up in between and there was a slight squeal as if maybe the belt was slipping and there was also a slight burning plastic of rubber smell. The belt IS new and it doesnt feel as if it is slipping when accelerating and the belt light hasnt come on.
Anyone have any suggestions?
It does seem to run really well and HARD accept for the slight hesitation or cough and the occasional backfire, I ran it up to 69MPH with both me and a buddy of mine on it, combined weight of almost 500lbs

Hi Guys, this Quadmaster has an extremely loud bang after turning key off (from idle), scares the stock, dog and missus, any ideas on what to check.
Thanks and regards,
Brian
