The 3000 Members Drive!

Recommended Posts

Maybe if there was more aimed at the utility quads we could get more members. The site overall seems to be geared more towards the sport quads. Don't get me wrong I love all ATV's but as a ute rider there isn't as much here for my riding style. I know there is a utility area but there's not much action in there.

I've really been racking my brain about getting more active members here so these are just thoughts. I belong to one other forum that is busy all of the time and the guys are nice with tons of knowledge but there is something I really like about this forum. I just wish it was as busy!

I think we need to spread the word anyway we can. I'd display a window decal on my truck if it was a cool design.....hint hint! I've also mentioned a flyer with the site info . I'm not too good at designing things but if someone where to come up with something and post it up so we could all print 'em as needed that would be cool.

All great ideas! We're working on something to help spread the word, due to launch next month.

I like the flag idea!

I think the whip flag idea is great. I'll take 2! Hey Quadcrazy, is that something you and Admin could workout? We definitly needs some stickers. I sport my shirt and sweat shirt all the time. As does Kristin.

We inquired about atv safety flags and received some quotes. I will start a new thread, because I would like to see how many people use them.

We have some 2X3 stickers coming in next week. They will be given out on a promotional basis to our members who participate in the forums, contests, etc...barring any issues with the print. More info to follow.

No offense to the designer of the current logo, but what if you had a contest for a few new designs as well?

I'm not saying to get rid of the current logo for this website, but you could have a few different designs for different modes of advertisement, like 3 different kinds for the shirts, a couple for cups and stickers, one that will fit a whip flag well, etc.

You should just post some ideas you guys got in a separate thread, or start a design idea thread. Sounds interesting!

2027 members.

The current design is less than a year old, it's pretty new.

Unfortunately it is too involved with using a design from someone else. There are copyright and legal issues we are not willing to get involved with. But, that's not to say that we could not come up with an idea or other image contest down the road.

I'd be more willing to run a separate contest on images, banners, and any other images using the current logo. Let's say, something for the front page...

I'm not sure what people's graphic skills are. Great ideas, keep 'em coming!

On another note, we are now at 2055!

2935..... Less than 100 to go! Have you all seen the new inviter we added? If everyone takes a moment to invite some fellow riders....

This inviter is supposed to not only do e-mails but social networks also. Thanks to admin for adding it in the forums here: http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/misc.php?oi=true

You can also use the community central inviter here: Account Login » QUADCRAZY ATV Community (This one will tell you who is already a member, if they are)

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

      Hi Guys!

New member and could really use your advice. I would have to believe this has been an issue for others but a search here came up with nothing......? (Probably me not doing search correctly)

      I have an 87 Big Bear 350 YFM350FWT
The OEM Mikuni BTM carb is shot and would rather replace than rebuild.
It is no longer made and I have had good luck with NICHE carbs so I ordered a #K-CRB-0006 This was what they said was replacement when ordered. This Carb only uses 1 Throttle cable. The Slide is linked so it uses one. (OEM had 2nd cable coming through top to move slide)

Problem is when I ordered a replacement Cable from NICHE (#C-CBL-0061) the Cable wire is a little short, not allowing Throttle to return all the way down to Idle position. I called NICHE and they are at a loss. Haven't gotten back to me after 2+ weeks.

What would you recommend other than a carb rebuild?
Can I just use 1 of the OEM cables (It is the right length) and snip/disconnect the other that went to top of Carb for Slide?
      Or ??

Thanks in advance for any advice you have!!

Hello everyone, I just picked up an 02 LT-F250F the other day and have been in the process of tearing it down to fix some stuff- one of which was the cylinder base gasket leaking like a sieve. Well, I know why that is now, and I also discovered that someone had been in there before. I didn't take pictures, but it looks like it was probably run low on oil at some point, the cam journals and the "bearings" (for lack of a better term) in the head and the valve cover are totally wiped out, very deep grooves.  From what I know it's very difficult to repair aluminum in this way, so I'm trying to figure out where to go next.

      1. Have someone grind down the head and valve cover and fit actual bearings in since the aluminum is screwed, and have the cam ground down to match.  I have no idea what this would cost.
      2. Buy a replacement head+cam+valve cover.

#1 I was hoping someone might have some advice on, but #2 seems like it'll (probably) be the more cost effective option.  However I'm running into some difficulty, it seems like the 2001 and 2002 models specifically use a different head part number,  11100-19B10, instead of  11100-19B01 like for all earlier models.  What exactly is the difference between them? There are obviously far more of the earlier heads because it ran for over 10 years.  Are they actually interchangeable? I've also noticed there are heads from the LT250EF that has 4 valve heads but also otherwise look identical.  Would those work as well possibly?  I'd like to not have to drop $500 on machine work or new heads on a $1300 quad that I'm already putting a bunch of new parts on.  Oh, and it has a new piston and the cylinder itself looks pretty good too, as I said someone was in here before me.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll post pics of the carnage tomorrow.

Hello guys, I hope I am not invading your space, but as you can see the current state of my project here it's not but about 50% ATV. I am hoping that some one here can point me to a wiring schematic that I can reference since the "Complete wiring harness" i purchased from Amazon did not include a diagram of any kind.

The ones that I am finding on line vary greatly but none show the connections for the separate 5 wire connector coming from the motor.

Can someone tell me where these wires go?

Thanks in advance for all help!
