BuckBilly I am sorry to hear about your Dad. My dad is going through Chemo and radiation right now. I hope that and surgery with get him well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He was way too young to leave us.

First, BB..sorry to hear about your loss, I know it sounds repetitive, but we all are really sad and sorry for you..

Second, how cool is our Quadcrazy family? Just reading this thread has made me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that there are people out there you've never met in person, yet, they genuinely care about you. This site really is one of a kind.

I hear ya Wheeler, I consider everyone on here friends and would love the chance to ride with all of ya.

Except me...I tip over a lot and make funny noises under my helmet....

The Internet can be great....it closes that "gap" that would otherwise exist if it wasn't here, and we'd not have the chance to "know" each other.....

We lost our mom 4 yrs ago and just went through an episode with my dad...and we fear he's not too far behind....I commiserate with ya dood.....

It's a lifelong journey, Yammy

I have an eerie suspicion that I may be Robin Williams long lost bastard brother.....

Plus, snorting Drano™ really gets the creative juices flowing...

Try it sometime! LOL!!!!!!

DISCLAIMER: Do NOT snort Drano™!!!! And don't even THINK about using it as a dessert topping....

Carry on...

I pulled out my Big Bear needed to do a few things probably havent been started in a year. Gassed it up charged the battery started right up. I have been using it around the property for this and that. Went to hook up my trailer to pull up to the house while it was idling it quit. Went to start it turned over but wouldnt start. After trying a few more times lost all power. Pulled it up to the house with the John Deere, the first thing i checked was the Universal fit soloenoil from Amazon and it was only a 10 AMP fuse so it does not universally fit the big bear it should be 30 AMP fuse. At the time i remember noticing it but forgot, at the time i had other problems like wiring harness being in a box stuck engine and no spark. when i bought it, yeah i know, thats one ishould have walked away from, but if i go to the trouble of hooking up my trailer and going there, its following me home.
Thats old news, i still need to check it all out see if it lost spark and see if the starter shorted out it was acting kind of sluggish, i replaced the fuse with the spare 10 amp and blew immediately. I will try a 30 and see what happens.

First ATV but owned 2 wheel versions all my (long) life. 1990 KLF300C for $500.. doesn't run yet but I'm an old automotive mechanic so not worried. Only a little concerned about the price of parts, certain this antique will need many

Well, hello everyone. I figured I'd introduce myself with a post. I just turned 33 last month and today I officially quit my job to work on wheelers. I've been buying them broken for about 5 months now, fixing them and selling them for profit. I work on them in my garage and have been selling between 2-4 per month but it has been draining me while also working my full time job. I've slowly been accumulating the basic tools I need to get the jobs done. Nothing special, not a boatload of tools, money or skills. I taught myself through the years and finally got sick enough of working for the city as a sewer service worker to make the jump and quit. I was making 49k a year and now I'm fully relying on my income from repairing wheelers.
I live with my gf and we have no kids yet so that helps. We live in a major city and it has gotten so bad now that we refuse to have kids and raise them here. There's no way we're putting them into the education system. We're determined to move to the country, buy land and start a homestead. My gf is building her virtual tutoring business teaching kids to read and doing awesome! I knew that this job was the last thing holding us here and I would have to lose it anyway if we're going to another state in the next 2 years so we decided now was the time.
      So that brings me here!
I hope I can share things that I'm learning and learn more from you guys! Also I know I'm going to be needing those service manuals sooner or later with how many wheelers I'm fixing. Any tips for us to get to our goals are extremely welcome!! We have no land in either of our families and not much money either so the task of doing all this alone is daunting.
Nice to meet you all and wish us luck! The clock is ticking!
