I generally use Non Ethynol fuel in all my small engines. I just got back from the gas station and that fuel has really increased in price since last year, I will continue to use it, even though its north of 1.00 a gallon more. That seems minor compared to cleaning and repairing carbs every year.

I was just curious as to what others are doing in regard to gas in their quads, i know a lot of the newer ones are fuel injected which shouldnt pose a problem, but i have had lots of problems with rust and jell forming in carbs when using ethynol fuel.

98 is the only thing that goes inside the tank, more expensive less problems 🙂

With our "standard" fuel 95 +10% ethynol creating problems primary in carburated vehicles.

I only use premium 93 in my cars, quad, and small engines stuff. Once in while I'll go fo mid grade in my car if price is high. I use low-grade when I rent a car...🤫

yeah i fix and flip old lawnmowers as a side job and there is lots of mowers i get that some of the carburetors are destroyed from the leftover ethanol after the gas evaporates from using regular gas

I think this is an overlooked "heads Up".

I have a friend ---past friend, Oh well--who manages equipment at a nationally recognized golf course.  They only use non-ethanol fuel.  He said it is because of fuel related problems with ethanol fuel.

$  in Fla is somewhat higher; however readily available at WaWa.  In W Va its hard-to-find non-ethanol fuel.

I agree with Jen that only non-alcoholic fuel should be used in small engines particularly if there will be long periods of non usage or storage.  Alcohol and water in presence of certain metals will form corrosive acids.

I have seen and cleaned a few carburetor float bowls heavily sludged due to old alcohol fuel

I've always had good results with just 87 octane non-ethanol gas.  I've heard the high octane fuel contains no ethanol, but I don't think that's the case here in Texas.

Non-ethanol fuel is 90 or 91 octane.

Does that hold true for Most Name Brand 90-91 Octanes?

I think you have to look at your location.  In Texas, non-ethanol can be anywhere from 87 to 94 octane.  Gasoline that is not labeled non-ethanol will contain ethanol regardless of it's octane rating.  The non-ethanol fuel is close to $1 more per gallon.  If regular high octane gas was ethanol free, I'd buy it and save some money.

There is a station here in Arkansas that has 87 octane, non alcohol gas.  But other gas stations have 91 or 92 octane non alcohol "premium", Whatever that means.  I always use no alcohol gas, regardless of octane, in all my mowers, atv, motorcycle, generator, etc.

Anyone  carrying  a power box when  camping with their ATV?  I built  a custom  one.  I  used a  marine  battery box that  has 2  50A Anderson Grey connector  outputs (  changed one of the greys to a red), an accessory socket  and2  USB outlets, and a battery  voltmeter ..  I  added a Pure sine wave 1,000w inverter to it and A red 120A Anderson connector to the  output  posts.. To  charge the  100Ah LiFePO4 battery  I  put in the box, I added  a DC to DC charge adapter that I  made input connectors for to allow charging the battery from a vehicle's  accessory socket  or a solar panel.
It  was a fun  project.. Besides  having a  1,000w power box for  120V ac , USB   and  12v accessories using the 10 A socket.  I  have  50  A  Anderson connectors  and the 120 A connector  to run  things like a  12v electric outboard   for fishing  trips .  The LiFePO4  battery  only allows a max output of 100A  so  it  can't be used for something like jump starting,  but  it  is half the weight and  delivers twice the capacity of a lead acid battery running accessories..  Commercial pow2er  boxes  don't  deliver  high draw 12v output to run things like  the  electric outboards.   That's one reason  I  custom  built  mine.   One box that serves for both camping and fishing.

I have noticed lately that the ATV tires i generally buy have upped in price quite a bit. The Kenda EX that i generally get are sold out and not available at this time, the EVO which is usually my second choice has increased 50.00 on a set of 4. The HTR Kendas best tire is now 150.00 per tire. Even the Sun F have increased but not so much as the others.

My 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660 is still going strong but the battery has not been holding a charge. I replaced it a few years back and have been jumping it lately but after sitting for a few days, it drains out. I recently purchased two car batteries from Weize directly because it was a good price for an AGM. I looked on weize for a YTX20HL-BS and its an AGM at $59.99. I believe they have a promo code you can find. Found it cheaper on Amazon and intalled it yesterday.

I ended up buying the same one on Amazon which is $49.99 with a $20% coupon bringing it down to $39.99, which is a pretty good price for an ATV AGM battery.

Just a heads up if anyone needs a new ATV/UTV battery going into winter.
YTX20HL-BS fits a a good amount of models.
