we should come up with a new racing idea. its hard for me to enter the ones that are about trail riding at places cuz i dont do that, or i ride on private land so i can't post the landholders info. i'm sure other ppl that ride on private land feel the same way :)

plus, racing is pretty mcuh all we do these days. gotta love it.

We have made the exceptions before on contest that a link was required. If it was private land, instead of posting a link. You would just type in "Private Property, Info not available."

Other than best racing photo, what else could you really do with a racing theme. I'm open for any contest just curious.

I think every month should be themed....That would do two things.....

1. Keep the Pictures FRESH

2. This would in turn give a Great CALENDAR opportunity...

They are themed almost every month, well this month it's a video contest.

Monthly Themes: Calendar of Themes

I understand the calendar idea...but every month in the contest, there is a theme under which to enter under. So they could use the best mud photo, or best racing photo...whatever within a calendar.

Why don't you post some new theme examples...because I'm still not understanding exactly what type of ATV theme(s) you are thinking about.

Hmmmm,,,,,,,

I understand that EVERY month has a theme....However,,,,I dont think the Themes have anything related to the Month itself....Normally, The calendars that I get have pictures that related to the month in which they are in....Let me give you a Picture.....

How about this for December...

Just for an Example....This is Nothing that has to do with Independence day.....However,,,,this is what I run off the Flag Pole on my Trailer.....Stars and Stripes and the Club Colors......

So Technically....This could be July....

I've moved this thread into the general discussion area, to start this conversation up again.

As you all know, we have been running photo contests for over 2 1/2 years now. Themes have been recirculating and it has been more and more difficult to come up with new themes.

A theme needs to be one that will allow most people to submit an entry...so utility and sport riders could have a chance at the same contest. Having a theme like..."best plow setup" doesn't quite work for sport guys...or best performance shock setup..for the exhaust guys.

We are open to having a dual theme that is relitively close and allows for 2 types of entries..if that is something you all want to do.

Otherwise, our plan is to just use themes we have before (below) to encourage participation. Below are the themes that we are planning to use in the coming months for 2010.

Best Winter Riding ATV Photo

Best Mud Picture with ATV

ATV/ATC/UTV Best Group Photo

Best Landscape with ATV

Best Trail Picture with ATV

Best Riding Spot with ATV

Best Through Water Picture with ATV

CRAZY'est ATV photo

Best ATV Action Shot

We would like to see a good amount of participation and have noticed that over the past 2 1/2 years, these themes seem to get more entries. Most likely because they are relitively easy themes to submit a picture to.

Suggestions and Comments are welcome.

The family has two quads and have been asking where to ride around here- we are about 70 miles north of spokane and looking for places that are nice to go visit for beginners.
We have a 2003 Polaris sportsman, and a 2004 Artic Cat 2-up (I forget the size)

Hey guys! I am new here to the forum and need some help getting my Polaris 325 Magnum 2001 Running.....So I got it for free and it has never run quite right...I put a aftermarket carb on it last year and it was running fine but it only went like 20 maybe 25mph max......But then the needle and seat sealed leaked within a yeah and it flooded it REALLY bad so I changed the oil because it was full of gas. So then I put a genuine Polaris carb on it and I have it set to all the factory specs, but it was still not running right....So I replaced the ignition coil and the spark plug and that solved one of the problems I had (It would bog down and stop running when i would go up a hill) But it still didn't have that much "Punch" to it like my Kawasaki Prairie 300 ans Suzuki Kingkuad 300.....So I replaced the CDI but it's still not running right! It's acting like it rich kinda....So it runs mostly okayish when I have the airfilter on but the top of the airbox off but as soon as I put the airbox lid on it like REALLY bogs down and wants to stall really bad. I have the carb at the factory specs and it has a pretty new fuel pump so I have no ideas whats going wrong! It still nly has a top speed of only about 30-35mph and it sounds like it's choking the whole time! Thank you for sticking to the end, and I hope you guys can help me!

I have acquired a free 92 Polaris 350L 4X4. Ive replaced carburetor from ebay, replaced spark plug, im trying to pull start but sounds like it doesnt want to fire. Spark is a bright orange spark (checked with spark plug tester), replaced plug, pre mixed gas from an external gravity feed tank. Compression test good. Anyone got any recommendations for me?

If anyone is having issues with the Mikuni VM24SS carb, I thought I would post what issues I had and how I resolved them.
Acquired a 93 Bayou 220 that had sat for over 4 years.
The carb was extremely corroded and pitted and full of leftover fuel.
Cleaned carb and bowl and was able to get the engine to start.
Within 30 seconds exhaust would heat up and start to glow red hot.
Removed carb and recleaned everything, including a second overnight soak.
Needless to say, after removing the carb for the 5th time and my frustration to the limit I
realized that my attention had been to the carb body and not to the bowl.
There is a small brass rod on the bottom of the carb that goes down into the float bowl but is seperated from the main section. I had cleaned that area very well....I had thought.
***The corrosion had sealed off the channel that runs from the main bowl section to the small tube section on the side of the float bowl. No amount of carb cleaner was going to get it to budge. So i took a small nail and started to scrape away the corrosion and was eventually able to dislodge enought of the corrosion that carb cleaner would flow through that channel. ***
I thoroughly cleaned each side of the channel in the float bowl and reinstalled the carb and now the issue of it running lean is gone.
On a second note the fuel mixture screw was a nightmare to remove as the threads had been corroded and wouldnt let the screw come out. I used a little cutting oil and worked the mixture screw in and out until I was able to push past the corroded threads and completely remove the needle. After a couple passes with a tap to clean the threads it is like new again.
Hope this helps if you are having a lean running machine.

So.. it a weird one.. The quad surges as you go down the road. By the looks of my tracks, it's one wheel only. High range, low range, 2 wd , 4 wd.. It just doesn't matter..
You can see in the pictures the marks it leaves. That was in a straight line, with hardly any acceleration.
      Any ideas?
