Polaris 400 transmission or belt ?

Aha...for some reaosn I thought the question was it belt driven.

Now, from personal experience, when you have belt slippage or issues, low end will not work.

i agree with ajmboy but beside wat u told us do u have any other information... will u get a good amount of speed in low or is it a very slow crawl? any noises? wen in hi does the belt start screeching? have u done anything to the transmission meaning clutch kit or any mods?

Are we talk pulling a load,such as a trailer, log, and etc? Weight of the load?:confused:Or are calling the ATV your load?

We just want to make sure you get the proper answer. So could you give us some more information , PLEASE!

Does it try to move in high? Do you smell burnt rubber on the attempt?  If so I would say belt

Sounds like belt. Easy fix if it is belt

 So belts tend to work in high but not low if worn?  I'd had thought it the opposite...
