New Addition to my Truck

Well,,,,,Since I Traded off my Utility Trailer I have been wanting to come up with an Idea for my Rig that would allow me to haul more than 1 bike without standing them up....I also didnt want to pull a little trailer or pay the Reg. anymore or Buy another one....So I came up with this simple little Idea...

Fits into the Receiver of my Truck and sits about even with the bed...with the Tail Gate down It adds Six Feet for an overall length of 12'.....I think it will work out just Fine for what I need and I dont have to have another Trailer in the drive way....:yes: Best of all....I have 300 Bucks in it and I can do Posted Speeds for Cars NOT pullin a Trailer:laugh:

A few of you have mentioned the swing and to watch it......Im not sure what Im supposed to watch though....It follows the truck through the turns...Its not gonna Swing out....Now backing up,,,,,That would be different.....LOL.....

I used to have something similar to this but it was a Single Wheeled Tent Trailer....OLD SCHOOL!!!! It was Basically an Extension of the Truck....Overall about 8 feet behind the truck and was Stationary behind me....When I backed it up it used to screw with my head....Me being a Truck Driver I wanted to Correct the Trailer....But you didnt have to....It went wherever the Truck did....LMAO!!!! If you would like to see it.....Buy the Book...READY TO ROLL.....Im in there with the Trailer....:wink:

There is probably close to 9ft of lenght behind the rear wheels, when you turn the truck pivots on the rear wheels, so every thing behind the rear wheels swings the other way. It's usually not an issue unless you are in a tight spot. I have hit a car with the as* end of a large box van that way in down-town Seattle.

I understand what you are saying now....Took me a minute to Comprehend....Ive had some interesting Moments with this old thing when we used to tow it....

how does it stay upright?

Well,,,,This is a 1958 Heilite...So back then there were real bumpers....On my previous post you will notice the Front of the Trailer has two hitches....Well those Connected to the Receivers that were Clamped onto the Bumper...Little 1" Balls...Since back when I had this thing I was pulling it with a 91 Exploder...I had to make this hitch in order for it to work.....But When Camping....There are 4 Stabilizer Bars that come down out of each corner to hold it up....That 1 wheel Actually does a 360 Degree turn...

Oh yeah,,,,,I was so ANAL back then....I saved the original Tire:biggrin: That is is in the Picture.....LMAO!!!!

I have its Brother Back.....I did this one up for my Dad back in 01 to use behind his jeep...

It is a 1965 Heilite of the 2 Wheeled Variety.....

This currently lives UNDER my 5'er....I need it GONE.....Its Very light.....All Aircraft Grade aluminum...and would be PERFECT for those Weekend RHINO Camping Trips....!!!!!!!! Cough Cough!!!!

      There is a huge debate in winches being bought for ATV's lately here is my opinion
      well first the debate is what pound winch to get what brand and what to go with metal corded or the Synthetic winch i would go with a 2000 pound warn synthetic synthetic because the metal cord over time frays and the little metal wire poke out and stab the crap out of your hands and can even cut you really good if your not careful I ride with riding gloves but i don't use metal cord because i don't want to have to put on leather gloves just to use my winch on a trail synthetic doesn't fray and is easier on the winch its self not as much friction when unspooling let me know what you guys use what brand weight rating and synthetic or metal cord

      anyone have experience with this?
      ive got a few 250 timberwolves, 2 moto4 250’s, one moto4 350. 
      planning on picking up a late 80’s or early 90’s big bear. ive found they are cheap, and bombproof. 
       
      but im looking for rear shocks for my 86 yfm250 moto4 and want to keep my input cost as low as possible. there is zero damping effect left from the originals and when i searched “yfm250 yamaha rear shock” i found a few generic “universal” shocks and wanted to ask here if others have had success.

      RIDE COMMAND+
      RIDE COMMAND+ features vehicle-to-cellular connectivity that allows riders to conveniently check on the current vehicle’s status, while its Vehicle Health feature will run issue diagnostic reports and monitor fuel/charge levels to confirm the vehicle’s readiness. The RIDE COMMAND+ Vehicle Locator will be an extremely beneficial feature for hunters, or anyone enjoying the outdoors, when having to leave their vehicle parked. The Vehicle Locator feature delivers a pinpoint location to the machine. RIDE COMMAND+ delivers enhanced mobile technology for riders to connect, drive and adventure.
      Adding to an already-robust set of offerings, Polaris will continue to expand the RIDE COMMAND+ service with even more industry-leading features using Over the Air (OTA) updates. Coming later in 2022, RIDE COMMAND+ will offer its riders added security with Location and Bump Alerts. Bump Alert, a 24/7 monitoring feature, will send a notification any time the vehicle has been bumped or moved. If moved, the Vehicle Locator feature will provide its latest coordinates. In addition, Polaris will introduce Ride Tracking+, where riders can automatically track their rides using the vehicle’s GPS location without having to use their mobile phone’s data. After the ride, riders will be able to generate a full report from the day’s ride, including time logged, miles traveled, waypoints and elevation changes. The report is a fun and helpful tool to not only relive the ride, but to plan future trips.
      RIDE COMMAND+ will launch standard on all 2023 RANGER XP Kinetic models and all 2023 RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar Trail Boss Edition models. The service is available as an accessory add-on for all trims in the following 2023 models: RANGER 1000, RANGER XP 1000, RANGER 570, Sportsman 570, Sportsman 450, Sportsman 850 and Sportsman XP 1000. Polaris plans to further roll out vehicle compatibility for RIDE COMMAND+.
      Riders can access the new service via the Polaris mobile app, web, or the in-vehicle, seven-inch touchscreen display system. Riders will receive a 36-month trial of RIDE COMMAND+ when purchasing the stock models standard with the service. Riders adding RIDE COMMAND+ via accessory will receive a 12-month trial. At the conclusion of each trial period, riders can sign up and continue the service for $99/year.
      To activate RIDE COMMAND+, riders must download and login to the Polaris app and add the connected vehicle to their digital garage.
      RANGER
      RANGER continues to set the bar high with several rider-inspired upgrades across its 2023 lineup.
      The 2023 RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar Trail Boss comes packed with new upgrades specifically designed to meet the demands of hardworking riders. The NorthStar Trail Boss gets a new LED rear work light to illuminate the bed of the vehicle and make it easier to work in low-light conditions. A new 12V cargo box power port provides mobile power for seamless, convenient operation of sprayers. NorthStar Trail Boss also receives a new overhead switch panel so customers can add additional lighting and other accessory switches easier than ever before. Last, this model will come factory-installed with the new RIDE COMMAND+ technology. All other RANGER XP 1000 and 1000 customers can also purchase the new LED rear work light, 12V cargo box power, overhead switch panel as optional accessories.
      The 2023 RANGER lineup receives additional upgrades so customers can work and play in total confidence.       Accessories
      For RANGER accessory news, Polaris is launching an all-new Prospector Pro 2.0 track system across all off-road brands.       Accessories

      I've got an 03 Prairie 360 4x4 that needs a left front ball joint and knuckle assembly. On the diagram (from PartShark - https://www.partshark.com/oemparts/a/kaw/50a852a0f870021a9c423c20/suspension ) they show the ball joint as a part of the knuckle assembly, extending down into the lower a-arm and held on with a nut. On the four wheeler I have, the ball joint is pressed into the lower a-arm and extends upwards into the knuckle assembly and is held in place with a bolt going horizontally, clamping the ball joint in place.

      Any idea on why the diagram is different and how I can find the actual parts I need?
