As time goes by and I approach 2000 miles on my H1 engine I am starting to think about what mods I want to do and what stock parts need to be replaced. My friend has a 400 and almost has 2k and has done alot less service work than I did. Well I think the larger tires and the places I take my cat are the reason. So where has your cat been?

I would also be intrested in what mods you have done.

Well besides being on its side from a 35mph +/- rollover here are some pics.

I rarely get photographed as I am usually the one with the camera. I passed 2,500 miles last week and my machine is still stock. Only replacement parts aside from the usual oil and diff changes has been the brakes and recently tires.

Still cannot post attachments, even tried converting them to GIF's first :aargh:

Mine's pretty stock except the bumpers, winch, hand guards, etc. The one thing that made a difference was the 26" Bighorns on ITP's. They made it a lot easier to manage. So far the only thing that should get some attention is the spike load dampener. It's not slipping bad, but I should get it replaced while I still have warranty. I've only got around 600 miles on it so far, so there's plenty of time for something to go on it.

Mike, I love that pic of you crawling out of the mud pit

I've got a few pics, but having some trouble. It says they're not a valid image.

I didn't make it out of the pit because my tires were worn out. I plan to put the bighorns on my LE rims when I get a few $$ together. For now I am using the ex-swampcat tires :coolgleamAc:

It was sure fun watching that cat claw, though! It was amazing what you were able to do with those old tires. Your new/old stockers will be a lot better, but wait till you get the Bighorns, what a difference.

After last weekend the Kitty is getting some work done. Oil change, and all the stuff. Started heating up again so this time I pulled the radiator right out, sure enough looked ok from the front, but blocked in the back.

Well only a week left till Fishers you will see a whole new cat when I post some pics. She had the carb cleaned and runs as strong as ever. Hope its enough to push those 29.5s with the stock clutching.

I had Airdam machine my primary, well another one. I can lift the front end with 27s off the ground no problem now. I didn't get a chance to ride with the 29.5 outlaws yet.

My goal is to be able to turn the 29.5s but still be able to trail ride.

Did you just mod the dry end of the clutch or the wet end also?

I am looking for a set of spacers for the mud tires and then some engine mods.

I might clip the spring in the carb and drill the slide this spring, still thinking about it.

I also want to arrange some things to help me better in the mud pit. I raced a few times this summer and did average.

The second time (above) I had minor carb issues. The 1st run was awsome but the 2nd I think I took a bit of water on. Had a exhaust snorkel made.

The Third (below) was the first time I ran the 29.5s the only problem was the mud pit was more a pond with a hard botton. Should have switched back to the XTRs, my decision killed me. With the new clutching I hope this is a thing of the past.

BTT - what has everyone been upto? Is there any interest in a East Coast Arctic Cat ride? I know I can get at least 20 AC riders and have some cool places that would host it.

Here is a vid of the latest ride we did with the cats.

Ok guys, I am a glutton for punishment! I picked up this 01 2wd Rancher because the plastics looked good on the marketplace. It has been sitting in the guys back yard for 10 years. The original engine blew and they swapped in an electric shift 4x4 engine. 😒The engine is locked up and was full of water. The wiring is hacked where they tried to get it to run and the rear end needs new swingarm bearings where they left it laying on the ground in the woods for 10 years. Has anyone here ever did the engine swap? First thing is to straighten out the wiring and get the engine free to see if I can get it to crank over. I have swingarm bearings ordered and a new ignition switch. So hopefully I can at least roll it around soon. 🤣

Pulled my '86 Moto4 out of shed where it sat for 20 years. I knew it smoked. checked it over a little put in gas and it fired right up!!
Drove about 100 yards, ran about half throttle wouldn't idle.  Put on somenew parts, jug/piston and rings, carb and valve seals.
'went together ok, tuned it over by hand about 6 revs whick went well. Hit the starter it fired for about 6 revs and quit. tried it again fired once and then th sound of something slipping like maybe chain slipping over spoket.
Took cover off to watch cam sproket, hit starter again, heard same noise and the cam sproket was not turning but jumping a bit. Chain was still tight. You will probably tell me I need to split the lower case but hoping there mightbe something else.
I don't fully understand the chain tightener, the plunger only moves about 1/4 inch, should it move much more than that when off the motor and compressing it by hand?
      Thanks for any thoughts.

I just saw a video on TikTok where some guy took the rear end off an ATV and bolted on a roto tiller in place of rear wheels. I wish i saved that video to post here....good thing it was 4 wheel drive...lol but, it seemed to work.
I'm not sure how he made it bolt on to the drive....

      Hello there
I'm having a problem finding a quality carburetor for a 1993 Suzuki Quad Runner lt-f 250 2x4. I find a lot that have 3-4 star ratings. And all so far don't have the right throttle Cable inlet at the top. The last one I got 4 star on Amazon has a threaded cable sheath rest that could be partially drilled to work. I would prefer to get one I don't have to modify. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
