I found a brand new pair of Alpinestar Tech 3's about 5 years ago, they were outdated and heavily discounted, I still ride with them today. I am looking at a new pair though, they are getting a bit worn, broke two buckles off my left boot in a wreck, so I have to wrap electrical tape around the top to keep the boot from coming loose. I am pretty cheap myself.

Look up brands like Answer, Fox, Thor, MSR... They will all have a lower cost boot. Keep in mind these boots take a bit to break in, and expect to pay at least $120. I personally would not trust anything cheaper.

Another thing to look for is closeout items, stuff that is out of date is oftem marked down significantly. Rocky Mountain ATV MC has close out specials all the time. Just shop around, you should be able to find a good deal somewhere. I will agree with Stoopidbot, you do want to get a decent boot, look for a deal, but I wouldn't buy some crap boot, they won't last and you will spend more on crap in the longrun anyhow. Good luck with the search.

Here is a link to a thread that RockymountainATV posted earlier.

I have a pair of Thor's, a little stiff when new, but once broken in they have been very comfortable. Going on thier 5th year now, and are wairing pretty good, no broken buckles, but they come loose as i ride. Pretty good for a lower priced boot. When i can afford it i'm looking into getting a pair of SIDI adventure rain boots, which are supposed to be water resistant.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

First post here need some help/advice. I bought a 2001 king quad 300, vin number JSAAK43A212111871. I have been trying to do some basic maintenance as it runs but doesn't idle all that well . I want to take out and clean/repair the  carb but when looking for parts it ask for model X Y K1 K2. How do I know which model I have? I have tried some vin decoders but they haven't told me. If anyone could recommend a carb rebuild kit for my quad Id appreciate it. Also any tips on tracking down an owners manual?
