  3. Yeah, I agree on the starter clutch diagnoses. Since the starter doesn't use a bendix, it should always be connected to a gear. If it is spinning, then that's the only thing that makes sense.

  5. It sounds like a shot battery to me, i would start there first before i take anything apart. Maybe time for a new battery!!!

  10. yea i didnt think about that.. i was pretty sure with my bike it was due to me rebuilding it with a used piston and rings off another atv that i rebuilt lol. but it could be the case with your atv

  12. Could be belt slop or maybe some tired clutch springs. If it goes away when the rpms go up them it's obvious a centrifugal issue that's related to the clutch or belt. It would help if you mentioned the make model and year.

  13. yea theres definitely a carb issue going on. does your quad start sputtering once it gets hot and trying to cut out on you? just wondering because i had a yamaha warrior that was collecting gas and oil in the airbox and it would run awesome until it warmed up and then it would quit and that bike didnt have a fuel pump- just gravity fed

  14. Thanks for the help the diaphragm is good and still in the process of rebuilding it again waiting for new parts to come in and I havent done a compression check yet maybe I should do that after I get the carb back on

As an fyi, neighbor came up and tried to crank with a clean battery and same issue so I pulled the starter... here’s a couple of pics... suffice to say I have ordered a replacement from amazon and will sort after xmas... thanks again for your assistance.. wanted to give you an update... Thanks again Guy
