  1. I'd seen that broken bolt earlier.. Good work. I always use a tiny chisel (made of an old pin punch), to get broken bolts out too.. Whenever possible.

  2. My new gasket is supposed to be in tomorrow started cleaning up the mounting surfaces: Found another obstacle I knew there were bolts missing, but not really expecting this, broken stud, not surprising the shape this thing was in, but its coming around. Got it out with a little patience ,PB Blaster and hammer and chisel, I only use ease outs as a last resort, the small ones always break then you really have a problem.

  3. I love this group of folks. Everyone shares their knowledge so freely and there isn't any fb type crap. Mech is this ignition the same as on my 91 Hilux 22re? I had to replace the ignitor once. And I'll say it once again! I hate it when the sparkulator don't spark.

  6. Local dealers are more expensive than online dealers, you might compare prices I use rocky mountain ATV and Motosports.

  7. Im thinking you may have to get an OEM coil just to make sure you have the right one, I say this because I ordered 3 aftermarket before I got one that was close to the right specs, still wasn't exact, but I am sparking, not running yet waiting on parts, but if I still have problems running that's what I will do. It still may be your ignition unit, but like Mech says if your not getting a good spark on the bench with direct battery feed something is wrong.

  8. I'm not sure a gasket is a good idea Gw.. Water gets down the pull handle anyway..I think some even have a small dimple bent into the metal to leave a drain hole..

  9. Sounds right.. I think it only happens as the engine bounces backwards as it stops. So I wonder whether there is meant to be some different rocker that hangs over the edge of the cam face enough to get held up by that flat.

  10. Got some photos last. Having a flooding problem with carb so he's going to look into that Sunday. After sitting for 2 years I guess that could be expected. They put a new battery on it yesterday. Had to unplug wire from cdi to kill switch to get more than one spark from spark plug. Started up then but, is flooding. I plan to get an OEM rebuild kit for the carb later.

  11. I found out this is an 05 not 07 but, it was an honest mistake. Yes, I will for sure be cautious. I lost a 16 year old grandson about 5 years ago to a 4 wheeler accident. My daughter worries about me now since I've decided to start riding. Myself I plan to get a helmet just to be on the safe side.

  12. I suspect that old 12 volt coils are getting rare, in these quad bike designs anyway, and so every one is getting sold coils made for cdi, or some multi purpose coil that can/might operate on cdi or 12 volt.. A 4 ohm coil draws 3 amps, a 2 ohm coil draws 6 amps, a 1.2 ohm coil draws 10 amps..
