I wear the same size riding pants as my regular pants. The jersey I wear the same size too, but depending on the size of your chest protector you may want to go a size bigger. I just wear a small chest protector now, but I used to wear full body armor, for that I had to go up a size. Where to get it is another story when I started out I just searched closeouts to find my size. Rocky Mountain, Dennis Kirk, Bob's Cycle, Ebay.

The pants have protection built into them and are usually made of materials that are more resistant to the dirt and water. Along with having areas of ventilation to keep you cool, They stretch and flex better too. I kinda compare it this way, You can wear a pair of skinny jeans to go to the gym and work out, but you will be uncomfortable and limited in what you can do.

car dealers are the same way anymore. Anytime you get something that is a dealer only item, for quad, car, boat, etc., expect to get tickled a little.
