  1. Yes,the needle can give you problems sometimes, make sure the settings are correct, to much or to little will give you flooding or starving systems.
  2. I experienced a crash that ended not so well.Going to work one day as I live far off of the highway some 15 miles.I come upon a bunch of skids on the gravel road ,as I kept following they had gotten extremely worce about a mile, and then I saw what was left of quad it hit a tree off of the ditch ,the front wheels were almost equal to the back .then I saw the rider he was about 100 ft from quad .I quickly stopped to see if I could help .Called 911 soon a helicopter came and got him,I found out later that he died 2 days after from internal bleeding.it was caused by him partying that night and getting on his ride after drinking to much.so if anyone reads this drinking and driving is bad but drinking and riding can even be deadly. Stay safe.
  3. Yes sir please don't force it. Cast aluminum is easily breakable especially the older it gets.the hot and cold of engine running does it.
  4. That looks kind of like a Kawasaki, have to see more pictures for true identification
  5. Yes sir. Not on this site as much as I like here ,but we are all here and a lot have been around and willing to help. Most of our knowledge comes from hands on. Like my grandfather used to tell me books can teach you so far but hands on experience is where it's at.
  6. Welcome as to note new carb ect ,tire pressure, how much weight that you have on bike will all contribute to the fuel economy with how fast you drive. Enjoy
  7. I have many of these ole bikes for parts and such , usually the ones that run noone wants to get rid of. Very sought after ride. Hope you the best
  8. Klf and kvf 300 a b c have the same jugs ,pistons. The heads will look the same but have slightly smaller valves most likely the year models,my Kawasaki prairie has same jug but bigger head than bayou most parts will I change unless like mine automatic then the inners are different
  9. Yes sir agree 👍 if someone didn't file it off and I have seen that with new paint over it. But there will always be numbers that will on engine itself at top and bottom but to see them you would have to have engine removed
  10. Can't beat them old king quads easy to work on and fun to ride most definitely one of the good rides out there. Any questions about it when you start the project, holler I might even have some parts still in the back. Have a good one
  11. Yes sir have ran across the same thing, with some having pin holes in the pump itself, you never know these days what you will get when you order parts. Anyways have a good one .
  12. Looks like your enjoying yourself. That's what life is all about, just a point allso. I've seen many side by sides and the ones that's impressed me the most about handling and the ride ,the way parts were available in different formats were the Kawasaki models. Old or new they are well built. Hope all the best. Take care out there and ride on ..
  13. Just out to say that's a nice bike. Looks like it was never rode hard and put up wet as they use to say. Good luck on your project.
  14. Make sure to CHK float in carburetor to see if hanging up or not set correctly even just fraction of mm sometimes will throw off every thing

  18. The brand purchased was regular Walmart brand, researched it online has about the same additives ect as most brand name tractor oil at about 17 $ a gallon just can't beat it. But will it hold up will see soon. Always have used Castrol in all my cars trucks ect.
  19. Correct,in that if it's the oil,I had a bike a few years back ,when you cranked it up oil light would come on checked everything then one day I cranked it turned off then back on oil light went off. At this point knew it was a short of some kind traced down all wires found short behind light ,wires had rubbed together and would touch as soon as you started. Just a note that anything can be the cause behind light on. Like my grandfather use to say hope for the best and expect the unexpected.
  20. That's what I was thinking allso thanks for sharing
  21. Agree,if the lightest knock, then shut it down quickly after rev. I ve seen lights come on then crank up then lock up .
