  1. Always more hp I would go for to have more value

  2. Have you tried another plug or even a hotter one maybe, cold be grounding itself out somewhere on plug wire from coil to plug. Good luck
  3. I would guess your carb main jet is maybe clogged up but let just a little bit in just to run. Closer inspection could be simple float adjustment needed CHK specs on float. Hope this helps good luck.
  4. I would agree with mech I use a plastic drinking straw to check tdc when I can't get to flywheel sometimes, just pull plug rotate engine until straw comes up then goes down tweak it until u know it's tdc then look at marks if off then you have a bad key. Hope that helps you.
  5. If you check your timing and it's tdc you could have sheared a key sometimes keys just bend and not shear and throws everything off just a bit. Just A last effort pull flywheel and see if key is good. Hope the best.
  6. That is red neck 101,I should know I make stuff all the time ,those are awesome 👍
  7. CHK for air leaks from engine side on carb sometimes the carb connection will vibrate loose or the boot itself will crack from heat,or could be simply water in fuel. I've seen all of these problems in the past hope this helps.
  8. I've used tire shine from Walmart works great.
  9. Just a note new plugs can be bad right out of box I had an old mustang once put new plugs in and wouldn't crank up. Chkd plugs and out of 8 brand new plugs only 2 was firing.something to ponder hope you the best.
  10. I would definitely have to agree with mech on his comment even small amounts of rust will hinder voltage or contaminated oil residue.
  11. Yes to add, you need to have a good mic tool and know the speed and heat ratings but you can do it, as I have for years now on most things I work on. And with today's economy going down the drain with so called political crap who wouldn't want to save a little here and there. Hope all you guys have good luck on your rides.
  12. Just repaired my 2000 prairie seals I crossed referenced the Kawasaki numbers to ones made here in the USA and was way less expensive as others any seal making company will have them in stock ,also did bearings the same way Kawasaki bearings were 30 dollars or so I found them for 4 dollars and free shipping, takes a little research finding cross reference numbers but if you can find them then can get same seals and bearings at cheaper prices.good luck on your machine.
  13. Had similar problem with 2000 prairie found out was a wire problem it was both wires coming from engine for the neutral reverse switches guess that after vibration and such small wires just didn't hold up ,to fix problem I made up new wires from both switches all the way back to fuse solved problem.chk with volt meter to c if your voltage is up to pare while wiggling the wires.if not full 12.60 ish then your wires are faulty.
  14. Kawasaki, the older ones still hold up to the best of them they were really well made machine's.
