Ajmboy replied to LT-4WDinNY's topic in New Members Area!
Welcome to QUADCRAZY! That's quite a collection you have there. We do have an ATC forum if you are interested in reading some older topics: https://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/11-atc-3-wheeler-forum/ -
1986 Quadrunner 230GE Too much air coming in
Ajmboy replied to tjakes680's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
Look for a vacuum leak or misadjusted throttle cable. -
I typically look at partzilla, bikebandit and amazon. Depends on what you are looking for.

Should be fine as long as the trickle charger has a fully charged stop feature, so you don't overcharge the battery. The chargers in the first post are all designed to be plugged in and to "maintain" your battery.

I don't know for sure but I typically look at the aftermarket sites that sell OEM and do the lookups and see if the part numbers are the same. If not, then no. I try to go with the exact part numbers. Is it possible they are the same parts? probably.

1980's quadrunner 250 4x4 trying to bring her back to life
Ajmboy replied to frostydeisel's topic in Suzuki ATV Forum
I would pull the tank and make sure its clean. I would then replace the fuel petcock and carburetor. Then go from there. You can get a carb for $30-60 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=suzuki+quadrunner+250+carburetor&i=automotive&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 You can get a fuel petcock for $30-40 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=suzuki+quadrunner+250+fuel+petcock&crid=RUICDM3OK9K&sprefix=suzuki+quadrunner+250+fuel%2Cautomotive%2C167&ref=nb_sb_ss_fb_1_26_ts-doa-p The main thing is to make sure he didn't drop any screws into the carb, down the intake and into the engine. I would also replace that starter. which you can get on Amazon for $35-50: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=suzuki+quadrunner+250+starter&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 The entire repair could cost you $100-150 in parts. -
2002 Yamaha Bear Tracker transmission problem
Ajmboy replied to Stilkikn's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
That's awesome, way to go on fixing and thanks for sharing. -
Not a dumb question at all, you would think to screw it in, so you get all the oil level and don't overfill, but the right way is to unscrew, clean and dip to check. On Yamaha according to the manual, you do not screw the dipstick in to check the oil. See below:

Very nice! Is that a 700?

Isn't that by design so that you don't over rev in low or reverse? -

1995 Yamaha Big Bear idle issue? Or clutch?
Ajmboy replied to Richard1234's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
I would check your choke operation and idle screw. Sounds like idle is too high at operating temp. -

They can absolutely run hot but that seems too hot. You may have a bad ground somewhere or a bad battery, even though you got 12.6 V out of it.

Don't you have to take the big nut off like on a bike? Did you get it off?

Maybe clutch is out of adjustment? Is yours like this? -
Happy Halloween! A great reason to share a older photo! Post your pics if you have them!

Me too. Big tech companies want everything. The problem is that they will never be as good as a site in a niche. The younger generation wants nothing to do with Facebook so the landscape is changing slowly.

Reverse on a 1985 Kawasaki Bayou KLF 185 is not working
Ajmboy replied to Fenton's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
So what's actually happening after you hit the reverse switch, it won't go into gear? Is yours like this? -
So it bogs down when you hit the throttle off idle, correct? Is the choke working properly? Typically I would guess there is not enough fuel flow or fuel in the carb bowl so when you hit the throttle it goes dry but maybe you have a spark delivery issue.
