    you could probably get away with a 350. i hauled wood and did everything you want to do with a 350 honda, then moved up to a 450. if you can get something big, over 500cc reasonably priced, go for it. you may not use all the power, but at least you have it when you want it.

    i'll be trying it out this summer for sure. i think it is pretty soggy there now with all the snow melting ...

    yes, i have never been down there yet, that is highway 63 in the background. the main link from calgary/edmonton to fort mcmurray. 4 1/2 hours from edmonton. i try to stay in the woods ....

    remember the pic where i was just looking over the top? and you said thats what 4 wheel drive is for? well this is an extension from that and it was easier than i thought getting back up, just 2 wheel all the way LOL

    a big thanks from everyone at quad crazy for the kind words, and welcome and have fun here. it is a good site, and like i said before, everyone here helps everyone out as much as they can.

    i have just used oem shoes so far, the only reason being i don't think you really get a good grip with any drum and shoe set up. that's just my opinion though .... maybe the ebc's work better ....

    glad you got it all figured out sebringwarrior !! i've only owned yamahas for the last 4 years and i can't say anything bad about them at all. my first atv's were honda and i have no problems with ever owning another one either. i am really not prejudiced against any atv brand, they're all fun !! and speaking of fun, my post a little while ago was just the continuing funny rivalry mario and i have going. i have a slight advantage sometimes because i am on a pc and mario is on his phone. all good !! :cheers2c: mario !!

    the only real way to check them is with another working one you know of. you can test them but the results vary alot from spec. can you test the ignition switch first, your lights run from that. and if your lights aren't working, hopefully it's just that ...
