2005 Kawi Prairie 7004x4 Back fires 4wd ligh flashes
hangingon replied to marioweldinginc's topic in Kawasaki ATV Forum
Ok heres what I found on Mine it was popping back thru the carbs & a little thru the exhuast I found the intake boots were loose where the carbs attach. Now on too the light check with him and see if it has the power it should if their is a problem with the belt it will go into limp mode and have to be reset. The kebc actuator can caues the limp mode & will cause one to pop. The prairie has a limiter when you back up and if you don't push in the little gray button it pops and has no power if it's running like the reverse limiter is kicked in going foward it's in limp mode. Also the prairie has 2 carbs and they need to be in sync which can be a task. This is just a guess may need the valves adjusted since it's backfireing thru the exhuast. I'm leaning more that it's in limp mode over carb or valve adjustments & when you try to go faster it says no! pop pop pop pop! I would have too go back read how to reset it to get it out of limp mode & ask him if he been havin belt squeeling going on he my have to replace the belt. -
Need Help with an 87 TRX70 - Carb and Choke problem
hangingon replied to GeorgeL's topic in Honda ATV Forum
I feel it's going to be the gap between the intake & carb. Even if you put a brand new carb on there if it had the gap it would still not run right. It sounds like you crossed all of your t's & dotted all your I's with the carb it's self. Did or do you have any popping back thru the carb? -

I don't know if the bombardier does or not you could check follow your + cable from your battery and it should go to the solenoid my has a red clip to disconnect and theres a 30amp fuse. If you need me too I can upload a pic.

Need Help with an 87 TRX70 - Carb and Choke problem
hangingon replied to GeorgeL's topic in Honda ATV Forum
You don't want any gaps between the carb and intake check all your fuel lines for holes or cracks. If your sucking in air your not getting enough fuel. When you use the choke it is letting the carb get more fuel. I dont know the fix 100% but if you have a gap between the carb and intake you might could double up and try 2 gaskets. If your sucking in air you don't want to keep running it like that. Have you checked the intake and carb mounting serfaces to make sure their flat. Until you find the problem your not going to be able to adjust the carb. Once you get it fixed find the factory settings for your air fuel mixture screw and set it. From there you will need to adjust your idle. I hope this helps. -
I don't think for starters I would jump to a wiring problem these quads have many electronic parts on them. It might be as simple as a fuse alot of quads have the electronics under the seat. When you tried t start the uad did you hear a click or any noise are you sure the battery is good. Does the quad have a pull or kick start? First I would try charging the battery.

Uploaded a vid as I did before and it said it was uploaded but will not play I left it on here so you can see whats going on. If you know the fix let me know please.

Sorry 1 more thing if you drain the tank and put new fuel & oil in before you refill the tank. On the bottom of the carb you have a drain hose just above it theres a screw if you unscrew the screw it will drain out the gas & chainsaw oil in the carb as well. On my daughters it has a fuel filter between the fuel cock and carb may want to check to see if yours has a filter and it's not clogging up our fuel filter is clear so you can see any trash.

I went to the Koplin site to check out the Koplins. They seem to be the same as the e-ton which is what we have. It should be the same carb air filter box looks the same as well the head may be different by what I saw but yours is newer so they could have changed them later on. The left side motor cover as sanyco their used in scooters. And alot of the youth quads that are of good quality.
