Chasing problems. ATV is acting choked. Smells of gas. Black spark plug. Idles fine. Soon as I hit gas it wants to choke out. What I have done: 1. New fuel pump 2. Rebuilt carb 3. New throttle cable 4. Emptied gas 5. Checked pit cock 6. fresh non ethanol fuel 7. New NGK spark plug Did all this and still dogs out when I hit the throttle. Idles fine. Its worse when it get warmed up. Wont do hills very well. Finally check the compression. Cold it was 80 psi Warm it was 100 psi Book says range between 146 and 199 psi Limit says 114 psi Range seemed high to me. But I am probably wrong. The ATV has had a hard life on the farm. Never did a valve adjustment. Always changed the oil. Is it time for a rebuild? Any recommendations. I would say the ATV is valued at $1000 when running. Your thoughts? Thanks. Scott

Hi there, My 1989 suzuki ltf-250 quadrunner is having spark problems it seems to only fire 1 bright spark when you first hit the starter button then loose spark most of the time. Other times it will spark nice and bright and run good. I have a new battery in it and it shows 11.5v while cranking and also has a new coil. any ideas on what could be causing this problem. ]

Hey... I recently picked up a '92 LTF250 for $250. Even came with a snow plow. It was pretty neglected, and missing the left rear fender and battery cover. The time chain had jumped a few teeth, but once I go that set, and set the valves, she started right up. *Fresh oil, fresh gas, and she's good to go, but not so good to look at. *This is just for our weekend place, so I don't need a beauty queen, but i wanted a fender for safety's sake. This was how I found her... I wasn't about to spend $250 or so for new fenders, so I came up with a homemade version that works damn well. *It helped that it had already been painted black (was red originally). The pictures tell the story, but basically I used a garbage can. *We needed a new one anyway, and they're only $20 for a new one at Lowe's or Home Depot. *I created a template with cardboard first, then cut it out. *Some final bending and trimming, a few dozen zip ties, and voila! *Fender! *I even used the top rim of the can as an edge for added stability. *As a bonus, I cut a piece of the leftover can for the battery cover. *You'd think it was original. *Now we're a set to ride. *Thought maybe somebody would enjoy the end result of this crazy idea... I recently bought a LTF250 Quad runner from this old timer that let it sit. I cleaned the carb, changed the plug, drained the gas, and changed the filters. It now runs great! Problem is the front fenders are broken and the battery cover is missing. I figured out from pic comparison that it is a 2001. I cant find used replacements for the life in me and don't want to spend 500+ ordering a new one. Are there any other models that will fit such as the 2002 Ozark or any other year Quad runner that are interchangeable? any help would be much appreciated as my hairline is starting to recede!!!!

I am trying to locate 1994 Suzuki LT-F250 Quad Runner Carb Slider Diaphragm I only need the Diaphragm not the slider. I have tried to find a part number for the Diaphragm but have failed to find one. I have found a Diaphragm on EBay but the model years don't match. I sure would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

My 4 wheeler has been starting and running great since I purchased it. I changed theoil yesterday and afterwards I went to start it to let it idle so I could recheck the oil and for some reason it would not start. I let it sit for about 15min and tried again and stillnothing. I sprayed carb cleaner into the air intake and it started after a couple of tries. It ran great and started right up every time after. I tried it again later that night and it started right up. I went out to ride it this afternoon and it would not start. I tried sprayingthecarb cleaner again but itdid not work. I checked to make sure I was getting a spark and I am. I can't believethatchanging theoilwould stop it from starting. Any suggestions? Yourhelp is appreciated. Thanks, Joe __________

I bought a well used 94 LTF 250. When I started to repair and service it, 1 of the legs in the carb that hold the float had been JB welded. I could not find a body for a Mikuni BST 31 SS anywhere. I buddy had a mikuni round slide, I believe a VM series. It fit so I installed it with a small electric fuel pump. Did Suzuki switch to fuel pumps in 90 because of a lower tank design? It started instantly with no choke. To rich? Runs to rich everywhere but wide open. I lowered needle but still rich. Any ideas? Can the needle jet be changed? How can I identify what Mikuni I have? Should I give up and keep trying to find a BST carb? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

I use my ATV for harrowing a horse sand school. Last week engine stopped 15 minutes in use. Re-started twice but just loss power within seconds. Finally would not re-start. Stripped and checked carb. Replaced plug. Will not start - any ideas? Using 4wd and mid range gear. It has always started well with charged battery.
