Help Identify Old Honda 4x4 ATV

Hey Gary, can you locate the vin number ? It should be located in the front lower push bar on the cross brace.  If you can find that number there are a few web sites that decode the vin for free and tell you the year and model of the bike.  The 10th number or letter of the bikes vin# is the year of the bike when cross referenced on the vin decoder.  Do you know the model ?

Lightly sand the  bar  it is stamped into  and you might be  able to  make it  out. On older   Honda 4 wheel  ATVs  it  is  on the   round crossbar in the  front.  Mine was hard to read  ev3n  after sanding the  rust off but I found enough to use a chart of 1991  VINs  to  find  mine  listed.  I was lucky there  was  only one letter unreadable.

This site  has a chart of all the Honda bike  and  quad model  number  and tear  listings.. The   4trax entries  are  way  down the  list.

https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/honda-parts/honda-model-prefix.aspx

Your   vin  will  start  with 478TE.  The next  two  or 3  numbers  will  identify  the  model series . The  1988 to 2000 models have  a  150 there. Further on in the  vin there will be  a  letter to identify the year.

The 10th digit in a 17 digit V.I.N. or frame number represents the year of your ATV, motorcycle, or car.

A = 1980  B = 1981 C = 1982  D = 1983  E = 1984  F = 1985  G = 1986  H = 1987
J = 1988   K = 1989  L = 1990  M = 1991  N = 1992  P = 1993  R = 1994  S = 1995
T = 1996  V = 1997  W = 1998  X = 1999  Y

I have a 1994 trx300ex. What is the difference between the (trx300ex A) and the (trx300ex AN) and how do I know what mine is? I have the vin and I searched it but it doesn't say "A" or "AN"

JH3TE1903RT101409 vin#

That's a question I would like to know also.  In ordering 300FW parts I notice there is an A and an AN.  My assumption is that AN is the Canadian version but I don't know the differences.

      Hey I have a 1997 big bear 350 4x4
      I replaced the shifter shaft and the shift arm linkage and the rod when I installed them all I was unaware that you had to line the dot on the shifter shaft with the gap on the linkage arm gap put it all back  together and rode it I can't get it to shift in the right gears  I can move the shift cam by hand and goes in different gears but with the shifter shaft in it riding I can't put it in R or N
      Anyone know how to line up the shifter shaft and the shift cam s

      Hi all,
      Looking for some help on a starter/bendix issue. Can Am outlander 450 2017. While cranking to start, the starter spins and engages into the ring gear. After a few seconds the bendix retracts while still spinning and there is no damaged teeth on the drive pulley.

      Sorry I suck at these forums so if you see this submitted under update status, my bad. Anyhow this is a new shock for a 96 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 it fits my 96 Yamaha Timberwolf 250 4x4 perfectly. Little narrower are the bottom than the original but everything else is perfect. I extended it to almost a half in from full extension because I’m pushing 350 pounds.  It rides and hold me well. So if any of y'allRace driven shock. have been looking for one and didn’t want to do the research here it is.
