Idiots ruining our fun

So today started out great. Blue skys, warm air. We loaded the toys up to go play in the mountains. We arrive, everything is unloaded and we ride about 3/4 mile down a dirt road to get to the actual trail. I'm leading with Rhino not far behind when some 15 year old DUMB AS* on a YZ250 comes flying around a blind corner at about 40-50mph coming towards us. Luckily I slowed down for the corner and stayed to the inside when he went flying out of control around the outside. He smacked right into the Rhino peeling the rim off the tire, sliced the tire in 2 spots, ripped the corner of the hood. Ball joint is tweeked, that is what is obvious. I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow.

Oh yeah about the schmuck. He flew over the bars and schattered his collar bone on the roll cage. His dad is paying for it.

I'll post pics of the damage later.

Wow, very reckless. Maybe now he'll learn, could have been even worse. I'll wait to see the pics.

No, it was just him and a buddy. He was with his uncle out camping. When I got home I called his dad and told him I expect them to pay for it and he totally agreed. The kid was laying on the ground crying and the moment got the best of me and I was screaming at him cuz he is dumb. All kinds of cops showed up and everything. I told the guy I would pay to fix everything cuz I need it by Thursday and he could make payments later. When I talked to his dad he was still on his way to the hospital.

After it happen we loaded the kid in the Rhino and took him to his camp. Then I went and found a cop cuz there was no phone service.

Kristin is fine. The roll cage kept him from hitting her. If she would have gotten hurt I would be typing this from jail.

i agree Bot, KUDOS to you! Good to know our drtygrl's ok :) I stayed on all fours today at the race, but, I did get slammed in the rear end by a pro rider when i was simply moving out of his way to let him pass me, he slammed me into a tree. which got me stuck, then he had to help me get out to be able to pass me.

people are absolutely stupid sometimes. it seems like if they've got a motor between their legs they feel like they can do anything. jerks.

are you making them replace ALL of that?!

thats a lot of moolah.

Yes, he's paying for it all. We're paying to have it back for this weekend but we're letting him make payments seeing how he has his kid's med bills. An ambulance ride from the mountains can't be cheap.

The hood alone is about 350.

aw crud, I'm happy everyone is OK.

same thing happened to me years ago at Saddleback Park. but I was on a bike. Guy racing the inside and nailed me good. Imagine if you had been on a bike!!

Take that ride to a dealer or insurance center and make DAD pay for labor and everything- there is no reason he should not be 100% responsible. As for the kid, we all make mistakes and now it is his turn to learn it- the hard way. Fortunately kids heal fast .. and he prob won't have a scar to brag about HAHAHA hang in there buddy.

Yeah, here's an update. We got the new tires and rims on Wednesday. I took it to the shop to see if it was ok to run lightly for the weekend before I put it in the shop. They looked at the suspension. Amazingly the ball joints were ok so we took it out. Wheel alignment is shot and it started blowing coolant. This thing has never overheated or even come close. Now it over heated and spewed coolant every where. It's going right to the shop when we get home.

you said, it, your alignment is shot. the engine is working much harder plus there could be other problems. remember the old stubby vans? OK, sorry, we used to have old stubby vans with the engine in a housing just like the rhino. most of us with more than 2 brain cells installed electric booster fans to keep the damm things cool since they LOVED to vaporlock. If it has one, install another. something with a switch you can control. the earlier rhinos had vaporlock problems with the heat captured in the doghouse so us olf farts came up with ways to solve this!

that's the craps, man, let me know how I can help you out here.

"No Bloviating" per MWTE hahaha

Have a 1998 AC 300 2x4, Just installed a new carburetor. Engine starts easy but the choke RPMs are very hi and take along time (5-10 mins when cold out). After engine has warmed up choke releases and it idles and runs fine., It does no have an electric choke. The choke lever is never used and it seems like an auto choke? Long story short, how can I lower the choke rpm levels?

Also, carb came with a spare145 jet, not 100% sure what is installed. Could this impact choke RPMs?

Any help and information greatly appreciated.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

So I've got a Hisun 550 (clone of a Yamaha Rhino 660) that I was doing some work on that required removing the CVT and it's housing. Upon attempting to reinstall the clutch, sheaves, etc, I found that the belt no longer fits - it's far too wide. None of the parts have been replaced, they're all OEM. Exactly the same parts as what I took off a few weeks ago.
To be more specific, my belt is 1.25in wide, but the gap between the clutch and the primary sheave is only 7/8in wide. I'll include a few photos to explain.
Has anyone ever experienced such a bizarre problem? Any help at all would be appreciated, I've been stuck on this for a month. I'm open to just about any suggestion.
