2007 Arctic Cat 700 EFI 4x4 problems jumps in and out 4 wheeler drive

Recommended Posts

I think that machine shifts into 4wd electronically, if the machine shifts into 4wd manually, start by checking the linkage. If it shifts electronically, there is an actuator assembly on the front drive assembly, I believe that it engages the front diff as well as the diff lock, there is a plug that goes into it. Check the plug for a good connection and check the wires for any damage.

There are two causes for this problem.

The first is that the cable needs to be adjusted. Yes even though it is electronic there is a cable.

Or two the electronic switch has water in it. In this case you can usually hear the switch cycle on and off after getting wet. The solution is to take it apart and reseal it just watch out for the spring mechanism.

There’s a spring in the front diff to hold it in 4x4 when the actuator is relaxed (out). If the spring is broke, it will likely stay in 2x4 or jump in and out. Also, check the 4x4 relay under the seat, you can swap it with the one next to it to troubleshoot an intermittent problem there.

Hello I’m new here and was wondering is anyone knew of good replacement part numbers for front struts and rear shocks for this atv? I think I’ve found a new rear shock, that looks like the original but there is no dimensions or anything and was wondering if there are any afterMarket new front struts available. I know it’s a long shot but any help would be appreciated.

1996 4x4 Timberwolf rearend width. Can someone with some knowledge of these machines answer this question for me please. Are all 4x4 timberwolves this narrow in the rearend? These tires are so close the right one actually rubs the muffler.  Thinking about seeing if there are any spacers out there for it. I need at least an inch more clearance.

Have a 1998 AC 300 2x4, Just installed a new carburetor. Engine starts easy but the choke RPMs are very hi and take along time (5-10 mins when cold out). After engine has warmed up choke releases and it idles and runs fine., It does no have an electric choke. The choke lever is never used and it seems like an auto choke? Long story short, how can I lower the choke rpm levels?

Also, carb came with a spare145 jet, not 100% sure what is installed. Could this impact choke RPMs?

Any help and information greatly appreciated.

This is something I'm extremely curious about. Has anyone ever attempted to buy a quad (or any other vehicle) from an impound lot? I've always wondered if this could be a bargain, or a waste of time. Google searches do turn up some helpful results. Looks like the state of NJ holds auctions online which I'd be a bit hesitant about.

My online searches haven't really turned up any results of anyone buying an ATV this way. I'd be really curious if anyone tried this, or knows someone who has. I've actually found a couple pages with online auctions for my state, but none had ATVs.
