I bought a Harbor Freight 3000 lbs. winch for 69 dollars and been very happy with it for the last 3 years. Just saying.

You should check out the promark line of winches.

i put a promark winch on my 400 4x4 it bolted rite up and works great for around 100 bucks

are these promark winches really any good? i mean i have always been a 'you get what you pay for' kinda guy, but the prices on these are usually better than half of a warn winch ...

Go Warn and You will be happy you did. Also when you go to install it the power for the switch is already routed under the front trim piece right below the handle bars. Also a warn should bolt right up to the front bumper on an AC.

I have a promark winch that I abuse the crap out of. I just yanked out 25 huge 10 ft shrubs/bushes in my yard w/the root balls...the synthetic rope snapped a couple of times, but the winch is a monster. I just did it over the weekend.

good to know, thanks Ajmboy. not in need of one yet, but the big bear is grunting and it's almost time to replace it, but i don't want to spend a fortune with warn...

I think we need to get your quad really stuck and put that promark to the test. I am so accustomed to using warn just because when I need it I know it will work. However if there is another option like promark with good quality and reliability I think it would be a more economical option.
