Hey all, I'm new here from Ottawa Ontario. I have a 2009 550 Grizzly for hunting and funning. In the last year I've acquired an older Yamaha 225 Moto-4 for the wife and 2 Arctic Cat youth's (2005 - 50 and 2004 - 90 cc) for my daughters.

I've just started looking around to try and find places to ride - especially for families. Are there many ATV families out there?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Polaris - thanks for the round eh! Where's Belle River?

I've been using ATV's for some time for moose and bird hunting. Recently in the past three years or so I have been introducing my daughters to hunting (grouse) and we just have a blast on the bike. Recently my brother gave me his old ATV (the one I moose hunted with for years - Kate is its name) for the wife and I got a good deal on a couple of youth ATV's for the girls. I got a trailer for the 4 bikes and now we're all set... just need some time... lol

We've done a bit of ATV'ing in a public forest south of Ottawa and will continue to explore other public access areas. I'll try to blog and post pics as we explore. May end up joining a local club here in Ontario or in Quebec. More investigation required... Merry Christmas folks.

It's great to hear about a family getting into a few differant sports like you and yours. WoW four bikes and girls, damn you must have your hands full! lol

Belle River is in the armpit of Ontario right near Windsor.

Hi Keywil from a fellow Canadian and moose hunter. I'm in Penticton B.C.. Good to see you here. I'm a newbie to this site too and the help i've received from the members on this site since i joined back in October is awesome and priceless. I'm sure you'll find whatever you're looking for right here.

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

Troubleshooting a no spark issue, was running OK, maybe a little rich, turned it off, now no spark. I've checked/ohmed out the main key switch, the start/stop switch, neutral switch, brake switch - all good. It will crank the starter, but no spark with the starter or when I try the pull start. I've checked all fuses and diodes. Swapped battery. New plug. New coil. Swapped in a used CDI - no help. Traced, removed, cleaned, reattached all grounds. Removed things like my winch from the circuits to be sure a bad relay or something was dragging it down. When testing voltages, the orange wire going from the CDI to the ignition coil shows no/very low voltage-shouldn't it have 12V on it? Sometimes I get a very weak, intermittent glow on my spark tester, but not enough to fire the plug. I've checked continuity on just about all wires in the harness. Checked/cleaned/lubed w dielectric grease- all connections, redid a few that looked old/dirty. I've checked the stator resistances, all good, but have a stator and rectifier ordered anyway, will arrive Sunday. I verified that the rectifier has a voltage output back to charge the battery while cranking - 10.5-11V, low, but expected while starter is engaged. What else can I check as part of troubleshooting? I have a Haines service manual, but the 1999 350 4x4 seems to be an odd model, there isn't an exact electrical diagram for it, but found one for another year that has all the same number of wires and same color wires, so I've referenced that. Any hints, tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
