  1. Thanks for the reply I ended up leaving it at the dealer for top end recall and I asked them to check that could be causing it to just shut down. They tested it and said it’s my stator. So I bought a stator and replaced it and it runs great since than. I guess it was giving out 22-24 volts ac when I tested it but I couldn’t really test resistance with my meter. I bought small digital voltage gauge and now I can always see if I’m loosing charging.

  2. I’ve also had a issue with valve—turned ever so slightly can make a huge difference on aftermarket petcocks—after you cleaned carb, I would see if adequate fuel is coming out of petcock before installing the fuel line back on. And not a bad idea to install a fuel filter between new petcock and carb...

  3. During the part swap you may have got some dirt into the fuel line. Pull the carb and give it a clean.

  4. Here is the wiring diagram for that machine. It'll help you trace out the fault. You say there is continuity on the start button , but is there power to it when in neutral and ignition on ? If not , trace back from there, if there is then check switch to relay and beyond until you find the break. Honda TRX 200 service manual 1984 - B. 1984 TRX200(1).pdf

  5. Your weight positioning is different and for the life of me I cannot ride with a twist throttle on an ATV. It was something people did back in the day because they thought it was cool or because "my thumb gets sore". I can ride the sh** outta my dirt bikes and motorcycles with a twist throttle. I can ride the sh** outta my atv's and atc's with a thumb throttle. Putting a twist on an atv (rode a Yamaha Tri-Z with a twist a week ago as a matter of fact) feels like suicide. Maybe ok on the slower stuff, but on the Tri-Z you just can't get your weight right with balancing your throttle hand.

  6. Started when I was a kid. We had a sand pit, (they used to haul sand/dirt from there as a business) behind our house. My friends and I used to go back there and ride our bikes. Not a whole lot to do there on a bmx bike, but we used to watch all the people riding their 3 wheelers, dirt bikes, and occasional Odyssey. We always dreamed of owning our own one day. To kick things off my friend got ahold of an old rear engine lawnmower which we quickly converted to off road use. New pulleys, belt, and ditched the deck. Eventually we got some used atv tires for the rear. Fastest we got clocked was something like 35mph. He then got a Honda ATC200X. Well, I really had started asking around at that point. I had a job (I was 14) and had a little bit of money. A coworker told me he had an old atv in his yard I could have! Turns out it was a Suzuki LT125 with 4 flat tires, busted pull rope, and no spark plug. 2 tires got tubes, got a new plug, and that's where I learned the value of getting actual pull start rope instead of regular rope from the hardware store. Pay the money and do it right. It was a great starter atv, but I always lusted after the atc's, finally getting my own ATC200S. From there it would lead to more three wheelers from Honda and Kawasaki, dirt bikes, then back to atv's. Currently I have one of each (atv, atc, dirt bike) in my stable.
