  1. is this a 2 stroke model or is it a 4 stroke? if 4, try checking compression and also the fuel cap like @WILYUMS mentioned. other than that, you seemed to have covered all the bases. could also be electrical like @Frank Angerano mentioned.. but i always start by Checking things rather than focusing on what seems to be the issue and replacing that part.
  2. i mean it was my second atv- 1st liquid cooled atv... was still wet behind the ears..still am i guess lol
  3. yea true- didnt think about that. shoot my sportsman 500 ran awesome with no coolant for months until i noticed the reservoir was empty and filled it up
  4. i say your thermostat is bad- it would explain the fan not cutting on because the ecu wouldnt think it was too hot.
  5. is it overheating all the time or just when your using it in a tight spot (in low or pulling a load- high rpms and low speed ect) or out on the trail? im thinking you may have a different issue as it really should depend on the fan all the time to keep cool. the fan is for keeping air moving through the radiator when the atv is sitting or moving slowly. also if your radiator is plugged with mud or dirt it will not cool regardless of having the fan or not.
  6. for the pull start issue i would check for a decompression valve on the head of the machine- sometimes they are there- sometimes not but that would make it easier. if not its prolly just jammed up in your pull start assembly which is usually an easy enough fix thats a nice bike though- heard good things about the torque those 660s make.
  7. yea i didnt think about that.. i was pretty sure with my bike it was due to me rebuilding it with a used piston and rings off another atv that i rebuilt lol. but it could be the case with your atv
  8. what atv you got? yea like@Frank Angerano said it all depends on model/year
  9. no they dont and theyre so hard to fix and find parts for- its like they blow an ignition coil and they're totaled- not worth replacing
  10. nothings really that different in christiansburg VA.. couple ppl starting to wear masks and many staying home and businesses closed ect.. took the 570 out for a ride at the farm yesterday
  11. yea theres definitely a carb issue going on. does your quad start sputtering once it gets hot and trying to cut out on you? just wondering because i had a yamaha warrior that was collecting gas and oil in the airbox and it would run awesome until it warmed up and then it would quit and that bike didnt have a fuel pump- just gravity fed
  12. check spark and compression as well. could be a blown head gasket
  13. dang thats sweet. if you want you should make a thread and keep us posted about how its going- i love keeping up with other people's projects👍
  14. i gotta 2017 570 too and its been a great machine. i would check for any loose connections between the stater and the battery. also check that your stater isnt blown and check your reg rectifier. im running a $30 dollar cheap aftermarket battery in mine and it does fine- has a little issue turning over with i have the lights on or some draw on it but thats because it was made for a 300cc atv, not a 570 lol. not sure what the cca are on it
  15. ok now this one was really walking down memory lane.. did sell that bike a couple years ago- lost $1500 into it when i did😆
  16. yea they go like that sometimes. you got a quad to replace it?
  17. haha yea i was just going through my threads i had started and wrapping what i could up- cant stand unresolved threads
  18. yea haha money dont grow on trees. the guy did pay me for parts and labor on this and the big bear he brought me to rebuild for him. those were his only atvs and havnt heard from him since so i guess that good? lol
  19. yea it was the best flip ive had so far- NADA guide said it was worth $2500 at the time. guy came said he needed a trail ready bike, i told him this thing wouldn't let him down, he was fine with what i was asking and took it home what was even better is the bike that took its spot in the shed was the 570 i got now and i picked that one up for $3600 as is- have about $4000 into it now with extras and all
  20. update on this one- sold it a while back for $3200. miss it bad but hopefully ill run across a good deal on a 500 again. fingers crossed
  21. haha yea same here.. havnt had any people asking me to fix their stuff for a while but i enjoy it when they do. just love working on stuff
  22. update here to close it our- i promise this is the last of this thread from me- lol sold the bike with the oil leak for $550. never tried to figure out where it was coming from. trying to move these smaller project out to make some room for future builds..
  23. awesome. im picking up info on it bit by bit.. i guess this is kinda one of those things where only practice makes perfect...unless maybe you have that college degree- and still, theres nothing like hands on for this type of stuff. i like how @Frank Angerano did it with his son i think it was- to take an old quad with a shot motor or one he was rebuilding and take it all apart and just get a good feel for what everything looks like and how it all works. aint nothing like it👍
