I'm not proud to say I am drawing disablity after hurting my back and all the pain managment treatments were tried I went under the knife Now I have a 3 level fusion L4 L5 & S1 and now suffer from a disc in my neck that caues my hands & arms to go numb. + that carpeltunnel crap. So I try to enjoy my quad while I can & some times I don't get to ride. By the way anybody use a twist throttle. I think it would be better for my hand. I had worked at Goodyear as an aligment tech. till the shop closed then went to a textile co. & got hurt there.

Summer 2011 - What are you doing?

sweating & I keep getting my bald head sunburned. looking forward to fall. Has anyone put ac on a quad yet it is hot. -
check your fuel lines too. My daughters two stroke 90 would die when u try to give it throttle the air fuel mixture was out of adjustment. It would idle and soon as you hit the throttle it act like it ran out of gas. if you were to have a small hole or crack in the fuel line it will effect fuel supply. The ethanol in gas can cause line damage on small engines. If you were to find this to be the trouble you can buy ethanol shield from a store like walmart. I run it in my quad & lawn equipment. I know ethanol is the cause for my chainsaw, weedeater & hedge trimmers the repair shop said ethanol was what damaged the fuel lines. I don't know if it effects fuel lines on quads I just use it to be safe.

This is a place that people has also dumped old car tires and other junk. I know that isn't right for people to do and I don't agree with it myself. But it's not the people riding out there. So if the guy wants to be that way maybe the city will get after him to clean up the property or fine him for it. I would be more upset with the folks dumping junk out. Not riding quads & bikes. -
I don't feel I can help. But a few things for others who might be able too. Is the air filter clean, fuel filter, good gas, how does the spark plug look. Is it popping back thru the carb or backfiring out the exhuast. hard to start or easy to start any flooding. Has it been sitting up for awhile with old gas in it if yes have the carbs been cleaned.

Welcome to the site & the fun of quads. Here in Georgia the motorcycle shops give out copies of riding places the down fall is there paid parks and some don't cater to atv's as much as motorcyces on the good side the trails are rated for your skill level. I would think about every state would have the parks. U can find them on the internet. Try to find a few people you can ride with if u are new as a new born baby to atv's u don't want to get out riding and get hurt or stuck and have nobody around to help u. As willypop said have respect for where u ride & respect that quad and it' power. Be safe!

Some butt head ran us off at a place we were allowed to ride at one time. We even ask today if it was ok to ride we were told yes.So the but head is renting a fenced off sections for a recycleing company. He didn't come out of the fenced area but he was about as rude as you can get. He said this was our free warning to get packed up and don't come back. Were going to check and see if it's ok to ride there if they say yes. He better stay away I'll roost his smart a-- mouth! thru his fence. The store owner and the recycle butt head doesn't get along and it was taken out on us!

Quadnut I've also pcked on at least 70lbs. & a 3 level lower back fusion L4-L5 & S1 3yrs. ago this Dec. I still have an acl ligment in my right knee that could not be fixed from a motorcycle 25yrs.ago I might need a roll cage on my quad & a 5 point harness with my luck.

With a walker that has high speed wheels for me to hold on to.

you give up something one way or another. I rather slide thru the corners than to try a balancing act. By what I have watched & read IRS is less stable in off camber riding. I would go with the Yamaha. With my prairie 650 it's the hands & arms that get abused from the front wheels hittig bumps, rock & roots. Dirt wheels has a owners report of the 700xx in june 2011

My daughter twisted my finger and I thought "O" I was very good at it when I was younger and it tricked my brain in to thinking you can do this.

People who say ATV's are not safe has not tried to roller skate. I tried today and I thought to myself your getting the hang of this again after about 35yrs. of not skateing. Now I'am home with a big knot and an ice pack on my hip. I knew I should have stayed home an rode my quad.

I think when it comes to racing you need to think about brand support and after market parts you may need to be on a level playing field. And at what level he would compete in. -
I had motorcycles growing up it started with a sears mini bike to a Honda mini trail 50, 1973 honda sl70, cr125, then in 1979 I got an XL175 to ride to school & play in the dirt. In 84 a Yamaha street bike. Then I went from about 86 till now without anything. I as well went and looked at a built Mustang & walked away knowing I would just get in trouble with it. So first I got my wife to agree to get my daughter a quad so she has an eton 90 2 stroke. Then I talked my wife into us going to look at one for me to be able to ride with my daughter. I seen a quad I wanted but she didn't want to spend the money on it so I started lookig at bikes while I was checking out the bikes she was talking to the guy who had them for sale she turned to me and said your not getting a bike. Next thing I knew the seller was getting the key for her to the quad I wanted(she loves me so much). So my first quad came home with us that day. So I'm back in the game of having a big boy toy. 02 prairie 650. Why start small and in a few months wish u had gotten a bigger quad. Start big and grow into it.

Talking about bugs I picked up a hitch hiker to day out riding a baby scorpion was on my leg when I looked down. I agree with gunny the no bug season is better. You can always layer cloths to stay warm in late fall & winter. It's illegal here to ride naked to try and stay cooler in summer.

Cool vid! we don't get much snow in the part of Ga. I live in so unlike you that get pounded by it I like. If we get snow this winter I will be riding in it.

like a golf cart on steroids. Just think how people would try to come up with different windings to get more power & batteries to pump out more juice.
-
I need bigger keys on this key board that would be neighbors mad not made.
-
Wonder if my local law enforcement would pull me over in my neighborhood if I were riding an electric atv. There would be no noise to make the neighbors made riding in stealth mode.
