i was reading all the atv theft posts and it got me thinking. when i got my blaster from the guy who sold it to me, he didnt know a whole lot about what had been done to it and was very eager to get rid of it. where can i type my vin in and see if i have purchased a stolen atv?

I'm not sure there is any resource online for this. You could check with DMV in your state or any insurance agent in your state. Have them run the vin #.

You could check the stolen atv website and search by serial# or type of quad: Search - Stolen ATV

I don't know anything about this site, but just did a Google™ search on "stolen atv resource" and came across this:

STOLEN ATV - We help find your stolen ATV

Serial number search:

Search - Stolen ATV

Here in PA a quick call to the state police is what I would do. They will run the vin for you. If it was stolen they will probably take it. You can be charged with receiving stolen property also but because you started the hunt I doubt that.

Id also call the DMV if you are looking to purchase a ATV and for some reason you thing it is stolen, but do it before you buy it or you will be out money and a ATV. Shoot, if you use google it may not be on there yet, or never be on there, and I guarantee to, if my ATV is stolen, I'll post it here on a ATV site along with pictures, and I would have already been to the Sheriff department.

I had an issue with buying a trailer and all I had to do was call the local sheriff's office and they sent an officer out to the house he ran the vin# to confirm it was not reported stolen. My tag office had a fourm for the officer to fill out since the trailer had to have a tag & be put into my name. Did you get a bill of sell or any thing in writing from the seller? I just bought a nonrunning quad and needed the frame I had the seller to sign a bill of sell with the vin# so I have proof of where and who I got it from and the date.

we had a honda 450r for 3 DAYS before it was stolen.....I wish we could get it back, we were making payments to a friend and he just let us take it before paying it off....it was realllllllllllllllly hard to pay over $2000 for somethign we didn't even have anymore....but it was the right thing to do.

When i buy or sell a vehicle or anything with an engine the bill of sale has my name adress my drivers license number and vin of product. Same goes for the seller. Then after the price it says paid in full with no warranty. Also the name and place that the transaction took place along with both signatures. This cuts down on alot of problems. Also anyone that would say its too much work or ill fill it oit later i never bought from. Never purchasd a stolen product yet (knock wood)

I’m looking at replacing rear brake calipers on both of my blasters. I was told that the only thing available was a hydraulic upgrade? I’d prefer the original. Anyone?

I was wondering if anyone thought it would be useful, and whether it is possible, that each post in a thread gets numbered.
I find myself in cross thread conversations, and it would be real handy to be able to refer someone to another thread, and a specific post in that thread, by number.

Hello, I cant find any solution... The problem is that battery isnt charging.. I located and meassured alternator cable, there was like 100-150Volts in cable that is going to the voltage regulator, but the output from the regulator that is going to the battery, I guess, was without any power, just 0 volts.. So I replaced voltage regulator but didnt helped. On fresh charged battery on turned atv is there around 13.5 volts, when I push gas the volts goes up to 13.6 maximum but the battery still isnt charging, by time it just drops down to 12volts and less again. I have no idea what is the problem here. I would appreciate every help. And sorry for my bad languagge :).

I've seen a few good ideas around about how to HELP prevent a trailer from getting stolen
but when it comes to security, too much is never enough. I figured we could all benefit by learning from one another what measures are in place elsewhere so jump in any time to contribute your idea. Here are few I'm aware of
      Tongue lock
      Wheel locks
      Take the wheels off
      Chain it to something stationary
      Motion lights
      Video surveillance signs posted
      Booby traps
      GPS tracking device
