cavry started following Dyneema on winches?

Has anyone changed the steel cable on a 1500 lb. winch to dyneema? Was this a positive move? I live in the mountains of Ga. near the Ga/NC line. There is lots of rocky ground, rough creeks and gullies, and too much red clay. I've used the steel multiple times (a couple of those I needed my doubling block) with no negative outcomes. Anyway, are there benefits to Dyneema? What is the working life? Does the cost justify the effort to change?,

Thanks to all. The '02 Bayou300B is up and running well. I still need to rebundle the wiring. Headlights are working now. I did go ahead and install a new solenoid while I had the body panels off. I also rebuilt the front brake master cylinder. As soon as I get it cleaned up and buttoned up I'll get a few pics posted. Again, thanks to all. Cavry

Yeah NGK plugs, and i usually usre Yamalube mineral oil for one this old, but there are a lot of good oils out there that is just what i use, its not that much more if you dont buy it from the dealer, problem is waiting to get it shipped. So if you need it right away wal mart has valvoline and Rotella that i have used in a pinch.

I have aa 2000 big bear and have some of the same problems you are describing, hard to get out of gear and the neutral light is iffy. Sometimes i can get it out of gear i know its not in gear i can roll it and the neutral light not on, other times neutral light comes right on. If you go all the way down with the shifter and then come up just a hare not too much or you will be in first, just a tickle, like cracking a safe, if still not out of gear try again. I have just kind of written it off as worn gear box and havent really tore into it to fix it. I can pull the break lever to get mine to start and just go from there, if i get tired of trying to get neutral light to come on, i can get it in neutral, but if light is not lite it wont start until you pull the brake lever. Yours might not be this bad but the one i got was heavily abused and neglected and im gradually bringing it back to life, as soon as i think i have it something else pops up.

true about rocking the bike. I've had a few times that i could not get it out of gear. bot, being a 24 year old bike, i don't expect it to run like new. These days i just use it to spray the yard, or to save me a long walk down and up the hill out back.

Are you sure you are adjusting the chain the right way ? I think that bike has a pinch bolt and a rotatable axle housing. You undo the pinch bolt and then rotate the rear housing which is eccentric with the axle... I think. Unless the axle housing is worn out it shouldn't prevent chain adjustment.

I have looked at the parts manual. Unless I'm missing something (I hope I am, and someone points the part out that is right infront of my face). I just need the aluminum part that appears to house the axle/brake for the rear end. The chain doesn't keep enough tension the way it is right now. I found this quad at the dump and got it running, just need to replace whats broken in the picture.

I've fixed it I did a top end rebuild temp sensor and fuel pump

Oil change diffrentials/gearbox Outlander 570 2021
Mech replied to Slitzer's topic in Can-Am BRP ATV Forum
I'd generally only change oil if it had got enough moisture or water in to cloud the oil, or(and this never seems to happen) the oil looked really thick and black. Mostly an oil seal goes before the oil looks bad and the oil gets changed then. -
The code list I looked at said that code relates to a brake switch. It didn't stipulate which brake switch. Check the brake lights work. Check the handbrake light goes out if it has one. Check the brake fluid level.

I think i would check the brake fluid and the switch to make sure its operating properly. Do the brakes work and the brake light come on. -

That does seem a little excessive, but that also depends on usage. -

Hi, Got a Big Boss produced 2016 YM 2017 that gives DTC 520 285 2 (random) What I understand is correlation code for brakesensors, very little information in workshop manual. Removed front plastic to discover that no connector was mounted on the brake pressure switch!? The only "brake" information seems to come from the micro switch at the brake lever. Does anyone know if Polaris does anything special on the 6x6 or had this issue?
-
Quite common, change gaskets/rings.
-
Had charging issues 12,7v runnig should give at least 13,8v This vill drain battery and eventally low voltage for igningtion and injector/pump. (but also lack of fuel (amount bad but pressure good) dirt inside filtrersock and injector.)
-
A 10W-40 synthetic oil( YM 2005- ) from known producer, i usally run Motul or Castrol.
-
EFI model? Had problems with clogged filternet inside injector.(with preavious changed filtersock and pump)

Sounds like lean condition/fuel problem. Fresh fuel? Any debris inside the tank, filter on the way to carburator. Jets cleaned manually with compressed air or ultrasonic cleaner? -

Hello All· 0 replies
I just joined the Forum and this Club. I'm a retired Auto and RV Mechanic. I tinkered with Dirt Bikes in the past, but now have gotten the Quad Craze and so here I am. I hope to bring more to the table then questions, lol. I will gladly contribute were I can! I am looking for a project. I'm intrigued by the Suzuki King Quad 4x4 or a Bayou 300-400 4x4. Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
