  1. That’s a great way to get after it. Make sure you clean the rest of the carburetor and not just the float bowl. Throw a new spark plug in as well. Count the turns you unscrewed the air fuel screw out of the carburetor as well. This way you put it back exactly where you took it out. Should be about 2-1/4 ish turns. Good luck.

  2. Thanks out there, I’ve also got a 1990 Big Bear 350 and I’m having the same problem. Sometimes it runs perfect but, then intermittently misses and farts. I don’t think the Big Bear can change timing. It’s all in the Black Box. So I’m going to drain my tank, flush it and clean the petcock. Then change fuel filter and clean float bowl. 👍🏻

  3. Hell gunny, the speed your turning in low seem twice what I'm turning in high. I'm running kimpecs on a 700 king quad! I'm envious for sure!

  4. I set up a HF winch on my Bayou 4 years ago. Just thumb button control. The planetary locked up the 4th time I tried to use it. Nothing heavier ever than pulling another shut down ATV out of a creek. I took it apart and realigned every thing, put it back on the Bayou and free-wheeled 30 Ft. of cable out to a tree and hit the switch, half way back in it locked up again. No Satisfaction from HF. Never again will I buy one from them.

  6. Correct. Just check what the recommendation is for that bike and try a few different set ups to see if it changes. Go a little more or less and try it out.

  9. Thee is no suspension on them old ones. I call them rough riders. Old Honda's and others were all the same back then. Understand that with those big groove tires, they grab traction. A solid axel with those tires will be a lil harder to turn. One or the other rear wheel has to break loose when turning with any tire. IMO, you need to learn to "ride" the machine not just sit on it. Meaning that you will need to shift your weight forward, backward, side to side, to get any machine to do what you want.

  10. That XY300 looks like an import from China. Might be difficult to get what you need but you may want to try to contact one of the distributors like https://xyvehicle.en.ec21.com/UTV_Model_2-seats--3791497.html I was able to find a 500 manual but not 300

  12. Choosing an ATV can be overwhelming at first. There a ton of good and bad opinions about all the major manufacturers. The first thing you have to do is be honest with yourself about how you plan to use it. I've seen several friends buy machines they later regretted for this very reason. Some wanted mud machines, and quickly realized they only get into the mud a small percentage of their riding time. Others bought sport quads that weren't practical for woods and trail riding at our local trails. I was lucky enough to have one of each. When we rode dirt roads and fast trails I took the sport, for snow and mud trails i took the utility atv. Now that I'm old and ride slower, I have one utility quad. Speed is no longer a factor, it's about the comfort for my aging body. I've owned ATV's from every manufacturer and there were things I loved and hated about all of them. They all have their pluses and minuses. Do your research, test drive as many as you can and most importantly, once you buy one enjoy it as much as you can!

  13. Went to a low fence ranch near Junction, TX last weekend. Lots of action. Took a 7 point whitetail, 18.5” tall Black Buck antelope, and 2 feral pigs. Took a shot at a running turkey and missed. Shot 2 other pigs but did not recover them. Saw numerous different whitetail bucks and does, pigs, turkeys, and Sika deer.
