  1. Well now that I'm back home and had some time to mess with it, I did a proper jump start and it did make a big difference (I was camping earlier and my "jump start" wasn't the best setup). This leads me to believe the battery is defective after all. I have ordered one and will report back.

  3. It happens. Crazy as it sounds but pistons don’t choose a time to go and I could be wrong but I’ve blown a ton of pistons and that’s what it sounds like to me on your bike.

  4. Yup, it's been a pretty good year out my way snow wise. And yes, hopefully all this white stuff will help replenish a few lakes & reservoirs. However, flooding is now a concern as well. And we've already had a few mus slides in my area, so I sure hope it doesn't warm up to fast. Thanks for watch'in the video Mike Explorer Guy, I appreciate it !!! That's what they are forecasting, more snow. And since this video was made (30 Mar) we've had two pretty good storms come thru. Bad part is thou, they have been warm ones with lots of rain. And where I live we've only had rain & where I ride, some snow, but mostly rain. So I'm hoping I can still get up there in a few days. There's a ski resorts south of me thou that had received 22 inches of new snow as of yesterday & another 17 inches over night ... so yeah, relentless for sure .... WOO HOO !!! Thanks for watch'in the video Frank Guy ... THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!! ...

  5. Those connectors come in a couple of different gauges. The picture I used to show the connector is a light gauge one that would not pass sufficient power to run an ATV starter but a 10 gauge or larger one would . A ten gauge connector would directly run most ATV starters for brief starting attempts but definitely would overheat for longer draws. It is best to charge the dead battery for a few minutes with any jumper before trying to start the machine . Most newer ATVs have accessory sockets that take normal accessory plugs. Most older ones don't. I wired in a socket on both the front and back of my machine. Battery tenders can be plugged into the accessory socket if it is powered when the key is off . Some machine's accessory sockets are also off with the key. They cannot be used to jump start an ATV, but they can be used to charge the battery.

  6. I think there is a big storm going on in the mid west right now. I seen something on the news this am. Talking about 2 plus feet of snow???? Relentless winter.

  7. You can download the service manual and wiring schematics here: https://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Arctic-Cat-ATV-Repair-and-Service-Manuals/ I would verify first that you do indeed have AUX power, popping that fuse would give you a blank display but it would still light up. Two common issues to look at, one is a broken wire in and around the steering column. The schematics will help you verify which pin does what for the gauge cluster. If it is the gauge itself, try this trick. disconnect both battery wires and connect them together, leave it overnight, then re-connect them, If the gauge isn't fried, this will reset it. My bet would be a broken wire, seems to be a common problem in 2006 - 2009 Cats. I had a 2007 model that had serious harness problems. Was easy enough to fix with the schematics and using some spiral wrap and loom to protect it, never happened again. Mike

  8. Welcome to Quadcrazy @Wes Camp that sucks about the engine locking up. You should be careful about trying to rock the bike or to keep trying to kick start it. You could do more damage then good. Your piston and rings may have went. I would start by double checking the basic stuff first like the kick starter making sure nothings stopping that. Then move to pulling the plug and see if the engine spins with the plug out. Don’t force it when trying that . If not then you may want to pull the head and cylinder off and inspect the piston and rings along with rotating the crank to see if the main bearing is ok. My guess is a piston and rings is needed. But just hope it didn’t damage the cylinder walls. If you pull the cylinder and see a chunk of the piston missing then there you go.

  9. The west has gotten hammered with snow this year, will be good for the spring thaw to refill the lakes. Lake Tahoe already has reported the lake is up and the snow has not yet melted. Hopefully this will also bring up Lake Meade a few feet.
