  1. A lot of "what ifs" to go with electric trucks and quads, especially if you're 200 miles in the bush. " Quad charges off the truck".... Great .. But how do you charge the truck if you're out on an extended stay ? Can both be reasonably charged using a small to medium 110 - 220v light plant of about 2 -3,000w ? To me , that quad is an ugly no go. 2wd and chain driven at that doesn't cut it in my book. Nope on the design on that "truck" too. I can see an electric 4x4 truck, but I would also like to see one with a built in gas powered genset to be able to recharge the batteries when way out in the boonies. It wouldn't need to be a fast charge , just one that could recharge it over a day with ability to restore at least 100 miles of its capacity in that time .

  2. When you pulled the carburetor off the atv did you inspect it to see that all it’s parts were there? Could anything have blown into the cylinder head from the carburetor that’s causing this. Have you checked the oil level and lower half of the engine to see it’s not completely flooded with fuel and oil ? And I almost forgot welcome to Quadcrazy @Quadrunner44 !

  5. So too stiff or too soft on the stock suspension? I don't think you can go wrong with Elkas but you'll drop $1k to do that. This article is worth a check on the 250x, they used the elka suspension as well. https://www.atv.com/manufacturer/honda/honda-trx250x-project-shocks-exhaust-protection-and-more The kit Elka built for our TRX250X features remote reservoirs front and rear for added cooling. Elka’s legacy series shocks feature spring preload, low-speed compression damping, and rebound damping on the rear shock. The ideal amount of adjustment for most recreational riding and even some beginner level racing. They’re built for your weight, type of riding, chassis setup, tires, and more. With our TRX250X now sitting around 44.5” wide, it is much more stable, allowing us to carry more speed into and out of turns; plus the quad stays more planted on side-hills. The wider rear end spreads the machine’s weight out, allowing for more predictable and easier to execute power slides and boosting the ATV’s fun factor. Our only complaint is a small but manageable increase in steering effort, leaving us happy we’d stuck with the +1.5” wheel spacers.

  6. I'd recommend hooking up the new starter & cranking it over with the spark plug removed. Good Idea to ground the plug while doing so. Keep pumping it until there's no sign of fuel. Very important: don't let the plug spark anywhere near that fuel getting cleared! Not very likely there's damage to the crank/piston, just don't turn it over without the plug out.

  7. Spent the weekend at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure area and camped at the Trailhead Campground. This campground is next to the trails so you can just ride over to the trails. AOAA has about 311 miles of trails on 6,500 acres of land. All kind of terrain depending on what you like.

  8. I just started re-uploading some photos, mostly older, to the gallery. Works very good to create albums within categories and sort them, much better than on the old site. I created 2 new albums for some of my pics, feel free to check them out (I posted the url to the album page here within the post and it automatically embeds below):
