Which year of the YFZ450 is better to you?
Stoopidbot1 replied to Speed_Demond's topic in Yamaha ATV Forum
You don't need to replace the piston that often. You don't change piston and rings unless you are upgrading to a higher compression piston or you are losing compression. -
Yes it can. CDI controls rev limiter and ignition curve amongst other things.

I'm completely stumped. I'll see if I can dig up some info. -
I would think that it has plenty of power to push.

That chair is bad, I would rock that down the trails!

I completely understand about how much it takes to keep a 450 running strong but a new piston and rings every 30-40 hours? Break in time is 10-15 hours. There is no need to change a piston once a month. I raced 2000 miles on the same 2 stroke piston in one summer. -
A lot of times it is people who get suckered into working for them. They think they are doing a legit job. Work from home kind of thing, We'll supply you with a call list.

That is just your dealership. Mine has bent over backwards for me. They are a ma and pop shop so to speak. Family owned. They even have a pic of me racing hanging in their store.

By all means, use it for racing and recreation. As long as you do frequent oil changes and oil filter clean and air filter clean it will run forever. With these 450 machines you need to change the oil about every 15-25 hours. -
I truly hope this exp doesn't turn you away from from Honda. I truly think you got a lemon.

I recommend getting the standard YFZ, get some +1 A-arms, some shocks and a GT Thunder rear linkage along with a steering stabilizer. That setup would put you at 48" wide and as stable as concrete. You could use that setup for both MX and XC. -
I think they would just take 300 off the bill. Not give him cash.

The 450R is setup 50" wide for track stability. That could get a little tight in XC racing. 48" is about the max width for woods/XC riding. -
A Doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa . 'The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. However, there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have eaten, or will eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?' * * * * * After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and softly said, 'Wedding Cake.'

We actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey, this is Karen . Sorry I missed you--get back to us quickly. I have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809 We didn't respond. Then this week, we received the following e-mail: Do Not DIAL AREA CODE 809, 284, AND 876< /U> THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809 This one is being distributed all over the US . This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call. Be sure you read this and pass it on. They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc. In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away.. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls. If you call from the U.S.. , you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute. Or, you'll get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. WHY IT WORKS: The 809 area code is located in the Dominican Republic. The charges afterward can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong. Please forward this entire message to your friend s, family and colleagues to help them become aware of this scam. None of the YFZ's have reverse. What kind of racing are you wanting to do? Motocross or cross country? Big jumps or racing through trails? -

When you get the rear tires down on the floor of the trailer and the fronts on the rails. Use straps to pull the quad back into the rails. Then use 2 more to pull the front down and keep the front tires from being able to move. -
