  1. HEY!!! Where's my 8x10 autographed glossy? I'll frame it and put you right between Parker Johnstone {CHAMP car driver} and R.Lee Ermey [the Gunny} pretty cool place to be in my autograph collection! Those two are friends of mine too- the whole wall is people I know except for one... :partyc::cheers2c: I'll be watching!!! I wish Cycle News was still in biz- I really miss them:
  2. we have to outrun them or they could get seized in Oregon. Fortunately the cops are usually someplace warmer than a patrol car and know they can't catch ya anyway haha they have given up chasing snowmobiles who they KNOW they can't catch... it's great fun to go get a six pack after dark this way....
  3. You may have to invest in a chain breaker tool and a master link, I've done it before. Just always carry a spare master link with you once you break the chain, but it could save you HOURS of work! I definitely agree that you should own a repair manual as part of your library.
  4. Excellent! they tried that on us here, but wqe swapped some lands on either side of the north south highway. so in about a year, you'll be able to ride from the Southern border of Oregon all the way up to near Madras off road! almost 200 miles north.... sounds like fun!
  5. side by sides are no longer legal in Oregon, even if they are under 50 inches wide. [not including the beach]. they are considered farm equipment!!! wow speaking of rubber bands, have you read anything about that 900? AC shame on you: putting a US name on a Korean unit. maybe I should have bought up a bunch of old Pinto and L20B Datsun engines- sounds like that may be the next step eh? hahaha
  6. yeah the snowsport looks cool but man what a price! I wonder how itdoes on eneven ground...
  7. that must help too! I just use the recommended Yamalube.
  8. hahaha yeah. I've seen plenty of them buried in that inch of crud in the bottom of tool boxes...
  9. It goes back to the days of ignition points- bikes and the like were the last to use them. It looks like an industrial finger nail file. Before CDI, if your bike started running rough, you'd pop the cover, file the points clean and then regap them- it usually made it run fine again. Some CDI are so tough to diagnose that often I long for the days of $4 ignition points instead of $400 CDIs.. not sure we went forward on that one! hahaha
  10. I guess you got a good one too. Yamaha recommended going to a one-piece shifter because the slack in the stock multi link shifter induced people to stomp on it and bust up the tranny. So I paid thru the nose for a one-piece and it works great, even with a slightly modded engine... A son bought one ast the same time and it lasted about 8 years, til his girlfriend got mud stuck [rare here] and stomped first gear into oblivion.... he won't sell it to me either- what a shame cuz I could fix it! Another Yamaha trick is always start it in neutral and if cold, squeeze the cluch about a dozen times before engaging the trans.. it worked fine for me so far
  11. any more stickers? catalog or website? I'm interested. Here it's customary to plaster the rear window of your truck.
  12. How many folks know what an ignition point file IS? Don't be ashamed- a lot of car techs don't know what that tool looks like...
  13. I have ended up with 5 ATCs: a US90, 2 ea 110, a 185 and a 200s. All these critters need parts....What's your favorite parts source?
  14. I may have one of the few first year Raptors with the original transmission still in it. Who else has one?
  15. So haw many of you guys have an ignition point file in your tool box?
  16. Anyone have one? Looks like great fun and I'd like to hear more about how you like/dislike it!
  17. Tx check with Rocky mtn honda about the manuals, they are coming out of his library. OK?
  18. Like quadnut I don't need anything complicated, just a basic phone. QNut you can pick up a later model Motorola for $20 on EBay... I have purchased several of them in the past for family as well.
  19. Sorry I have no idea what you mean, but the phone works and my monthly is affordable this way...
  20. I don't know of anyone who is making aftermarket pipes in the 93-95 range.... I have a stock system for the yammer to get it under 96...
  21. If it doesn not miss in forward as well then you are just hitting the speed brake for reverse. Most quads have them.
  22. I was thinking of an add-on to the stocker- it fits across the back- I don't rem the name of it.
