  1. let's see the ticking is prob a valve, you're right there. But as Hondas wear, they tend to go tight and get quiet. I would adjust them and see if that does it, but I'll bet it is a bent valve from the swim. water doesn't compress. Does it run OK but just smoke? It just about has to be rings, in which case you'll be taking the head off, so if you have a bent valve as suspected, no big deal. In the Honda forum there are Honda manuals available- download the one you need. the rings could be stuck from sitting... start with an oil change and a valve adjust and let's see what it's like after that. OK?
  2. yes it is hard to do. Easier to go buy a 420 from the showroom, really. that's the truth...
  3. GREAT! I knew someone would have experience with this unit...
  4. I just want to keep waking up for another year. The older you get the more of a challenge this becomes. Don't want to bury any more dogs for a few years- it hurts. Hope all my friends have a better year than 2010 !!!!!!!
  5. You'll find some folks, don't worry! WELCOME here! I have several Canadian friends but they're all up BC way...
  6. If your plug is black, that's too rich not too lean. air filter clean? good fuel? It's not getting enuf air for the fuel it's trying to burn. maintenance and a new spark plug will prob help you a bunch! we have to start at the beginning, but we can do it.
  7. Sorry, but my experience is with Yamaha and Honda. I don't know much about Zooks. I'm sure we'll see a Suzuki tech on here before long.... hang in there.
  8. Welcome and let us know how we can help!

HEY my quad didn't come with one of those! I think I got cheated!! someone's in trouble!!! WELCOME both of you to our home!
  15. WARN is the way to go man! they cost a little more but everything FITS unlike some other brands. Go a little bigger than you think you need, also put a circuit breaker inline between the winch and the battery so you don't smoke any wiring. It can get pretty hot....
  16. Welcome! got any snow there? want some? we have plenty....
  17. I've been looking for a seat pan for months! they're just not out there. If Honda had put a couple drain holes under there this would not be a problem... Prob should cover that before the foam wears out/falls apart. the foam is EXPENSIVE!
  18. excellent site Bot! that should be a sticky!
  19. I have one just like it. You can buy a seat cover on ebay for 39.95 but check your seat frame- the way these rigs were built the seat frames rust out really badly. Mine is so ructed that I'm gonna have to punch holes in the bottom of the new cover and lace it on underbeath like lacing boots... There is no metal laft to attach it onto. We'll make it work...
  20. AWESOME! Honda manuals are hard to find!
  21. I think Rocky Mountain ATV lists the bolt patterns with their wheels. Anyone who sells tires and wheels will have this info. good luck
  22. may not be the original switch for that.... manual time!!
  23. was the left wheel off the ground at the same time? if so, you may need a RH axle- it should be smooth like the LH was. it might drag some cuz you're turning the gears, but it should be smooth. Like on a FWD car, when the CV joints start to go in the axle they make grinding or popping noises when you turn the wheels right or left. may not be noticeable when going straight. My Accord goes 'clunk clunk clunk' when I turn left sharply- the warning sounds of an axle going out. Quads are no different.
  24. go to the parts store and buy a thread file and carefully restore the threads. It takes patience! I have fixed a couple like this and saved them big bucks! My file is about 6 inches long, square and has 8 different thread pitches on it. It is a 'must have' in the bike tool box! I think he's talking about the end of the crank... were the points in there or are they up on the head like the 90s? the pullstart you should be able to find on ebay and if not, google around for 3 wheeler forums- there are several.
