  1. sounds like it may be passing crud thru to the needle and seat... I'd put a small filter in-line [available at any bike shop] and that might solve your problem. Kinda strange that it would start AFTER it has been ridden awhile, unless the riding is stirring up some debris in the tank... fuel filter will solve that. If you can, buy some non-ethanol fuel [we have it here at the pumps] it'll make your rubber parts last longer. Ethanol, otherwise known as alcohol, loves to eat up rubber parts! I have 2 ATCs I have to rekit cuz of that ethanol, so only non ethanol fuel from now on... it's like 103 octane and runs $3.79/gal in the tourist trap where I live...
  2. Stainless would be better anyway cuz it won't crush down like aluminum will. Sounds like you have it figured out good job! My only concern was the length of the studs but you have solved that... Your bro and you may have started a new business there!!! You should advertise custom made wheel spacers and make some $$$$ on them!!
  3. sounds like maybe your valve stem seals are shot... pop the covers off and adjust your valves for the noise and look at your stem seals closely... you may find the culprits there.
  4. Oh I've been checking the forums.... sometimes I have nothing to say. Like Lincoln said "tis better to be silent and be thought a fool then to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." hahaha that's me I've been busy with this cancer baloney. Another funday Monday comin up. But I'm still reading new posts, etc... thanks for asking!
  5. 16 inches WOW- they don't delay school here for that amount. Almost yearly we get as much as 40 inches in one night! But we are prepared for it... Should be some fun riding for you guys in the Northeast! It completely missed the Northwest- we got nuthin! Should make for some good winter riding pictures......hint, hint
  6. drive belt problem? hard to say without knowing more info. Please be as specific as you can, happy to help!
  7. no kick start on a 660R. and all the ATCs are pull start like a lawnmower... the Yammer mx100 is my only kickstart! I had not thot about it... Batteries are no problem- I have a trickle charger hooked to my camper batteries in the garage anyway... fuel quality has a great deal to do with cold starting. They are now selling 'non- ethanol super' here- 3.79/gal it works well in my 90 Chibby and my 86 Accord LXi. We can also get 110 octane 'race fuel' off road only from the bulk plant- $7/gallon. So from now on it will be non ethanol gas/ race fuel in all my old Hondas and the Raptor. That damm ethanol has ruined the rubber in two of my ATCs- I have to rekit them!! the rubber is rotted out from the alcohol!
  8. Cool! WELCOME and have a good time! Dirt Demon is up there somewhere, I am in Oregon.
  9. hahaha true! 4 strokes have come a long way in the last 10 years or so..... have fun!!!
  10. wal mart has trickle chargers... my first battery lasted 8 years, so as long as it is charged, the acid won't freeze..
  11. It's the same theory as the smaller Hondas with the auto clutch, I don't know where the adjuster is on a suzuki. Pretty sure the springs should be machined to bottom out at the right setting. Yes you should be able to drop it into gear at idle without stalling it- sounds like adjusting it should fix it. Brand new clutch plates tend to be a little grabby until they get some time on them.
  12. start at ebay, I've had good luck there.
  13. prob the new clutch is why it's grabby... are you using motorcycle oil in the case? don't use car oil... little Hondas have a set screw with a locknut on the case-, does the Suzy have the same setup? If so, loosen the locknut and back the adj screw out a bit and retighten. Since you have a hot cam you may have to rev it up some before putting it into gear. Most cam profiles do not add power- they just move the power around. You prob sacrificed some low end and gained some midrange or top end. Kinda have to tinker with it until you find a happy medium.
  14. I cut a 1.5inch by 3 inch hole in the top of my airbox for altitude riding. when you go back down, a single piece of ductape will cover the hole- no rejetting this way. Tip came from Yamaha a few years ago.
  15. Ah yes, mechanic in a can, that'll fix it! Change all fluids, should be OK. Hondas are hard to hurt.

  18. I have not heard about this new one, that's good news! as long as it is better than the stocker- it robs so much power... I'll be checking in to that
