  1. You could check the connections to make sure they've got good contact, and check the fuses. If you don't find anything there, disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes, or better yet a couple hours or overnight. Sometimes that resets it.
  2. Glad it worked, and thanks for letting us know. Of course you never know if it'll happen again, or what caused it, but as long as you can reset it life is good.
  3. Yeah, but mine was self inflicted. I did a back flip, which smacked it off the ground pretty hard. If I hadnt' been under there to cushion the blow it might have been really damaged bad. Unhooking wasn't necessary in my case because I found a blown fuse. Get this, the headlight fuse. Mine would illuminate, but was showing blank everything. Anyway, conventional knowledge is that unhooking the battery will reset it. If it doesn't, you may be in for another pod, but make sure you check all plugs and connections.
  4. First thing, try unhooking the battery for a while, 20 minutes is supposed to be plenty, but overnight is better. Sometimes that resets it. Otherwise, as long as the fuses are ok, take the pod off, and check for a loose connection.
  5. It was sure fun watching that cat claw, though! It was amazing what you were able to do with those old tires. Your new/old stockers will be a lot better, but wait till you get the Bighorns, what a difference.
  6. Mine's pretty stock except the bumpers, winch, hand guards, etc. The one thing that made a difference was the 26" Bighorns on ITP's. They made it a lot easier to manage. So far the only thing that should get some attention is the spike load dampener. It's not slipping bad, but I should get it replaced while I still have warranty. I've only got around 600 miles on it so far, so there's plenty of time for something to go on it. Mike, I love that pic of you crawling out of the mud pit I've got a few pics, but having some trouble. It says they're not a valid image.

  10. I'm starting to think you didn't do enough to this guy, although it sounds like it might be enough to make him stay away from her. Personally, I'd give you a medal.
  11. Heck of a lot of fun, ain't it? Your reasons for getting the first quad are similar to the reasoning I used to get back into riding. My first quad was the TBX (a stretched out version of the regular AC with a dump bed) that I could use around my place as a work/play machine. Incidentally, it has the same engine as your machine. I was hooked, and having fun, and feeling like a kid again. By the way, I still favor the 400 for a pleasure ride, and it will haul, carry, or drag anything I want it to, plus the grandkids love it as much as I do.

  15. The TCat as well as MudPro, and a few other Arctic Cat models have factory painted plastics. It's an automotive style finish, but able to flex quite a bit. It just won't handle an impact. For repairs I just use Arctic Cat's touch up paint to fill in the cracks and open edges so the pressure washer won't keep flaking it off.
  16. I have to agree. I have a Thundercat with the painted plastics, and although it can be shined up nice, it just can't handle the abuse a quad sees. Where I scraped the rear fender on a tree, I now have an area with the paint scraped off. With colored plastics you just end up with a scrape. I also did a rather nice back flip, the result of which is was a some nice spiderwebs in the paint that wanted to flake. You have to fill them with touch up paint so they don't keep spreading. It's a pain. I wouldn't recommend painted plastics, but sometimes you don't have a choice if you want a particular model.
  17. Hi, my name is Dave. I just joined this site, but I've been around a while on a few others for a while now. Many moons ago I was into 2 wheeler dirt bikes, but marriage, kids to raise, bills to pay, you know the story, the toys had to go. A few years ago I decided to get back into riding, and got my first Arctic Cat (a 400 TBX). I discovered what it was like to feel like a kid again. Next thing you know I ended up with another quad with a little more snot when I started going trail riding with some friends. It's been a lot of fun so far, but the best part is the people you meet.
