  1. you'll probably have to make something up yourself. you can take a rubber boot matt or old transport truck mud flap and size it to fit and attatch it to the rear rack instead of drilling holes in the plastic. i haven't seen anything online available before. most bikes only need about another 3" on the back fender to elininate the rear wheel spray.
  2. the fuel vent lines should not connect to each other, keep them separate and keep the breather hose open from your front differential
  3. yup, real bad a$$
  4. i looked on some forums and they said there is a nylon H where the shifter follows for the gears. maybe the linkage has to be adjusted some. if you can call your suzuki dealer or go down and talk to one of the mechanics, they might be able to tell you how to solve it. on another note, a word of caution with your bike and trailer. i was told a few years ago it's not a good idea to transport your bike in gear ....
  5. thats great !! you have to like neighbors like that, they are very far and few between ...
  6. if it was a little warmer out, i would have lost the jacket !!!
  7. i'm happy if i only get out for an hour most times. i don't have to load up or anything, so my hour starts when i get on the bike.
  8. sometimes you have to rock the bike forward and backwards to make the shifting easier, have you tried that? probably the linkage is set 'too close' or 'too tight', needs a little more slop in play ...
  9. i spooked myself that day on another trail, did the same thing you said trying to roost, and flew over about 12 feet, not in the trees, but had to put it in 4 wheel to get back on the straight and narrow again.
  10. are you looking for flaps that will 'bolt-on' your fenders?
  11. nice pic !!
  12. you have the front and rear diffs with gear oil, (1 & 2) and you have the engine oil/transfer gear oil (3)
  13. oh you know it rappy, either that or duct tape, cause i'm not freezing my hand off again
  14. got to a high of 48f all week weather people saying 50+ and nothing it was fun though, it's starting to really melt now, should be really muddy in a couple weeks if the weather holds out
  15. just had to go ... a short stop at the gravel pit then the trails made a vid with a hand held camera, shakey, but no glove and no gopro [ame] [/ame]
  16. this was my big bear and this was your bike when i changed the o to 0, but still something not right ...
  17. i just checked my grizz and big bear vin #'s and they both went thru ok. what i thought was a y on the big bear was actually an x. a good light and a magnifying glass might help to get your parts right.
  18. do you have the service manual? it is here : http://www.quadcrazy.com/atvforum/yamaha-atv-forum/11122-1987-yamaha-big-bear-running-rough.html the tranfer gear is supplied by the motor oil ... check in manual 2-10, 2-11 and 2-12
  19. are there markings on the gas tank to tell you whether it is a big bear or a kodiak? from 2001 to 2005 i believe they didn't change anything. i'm sorry the vin didn't work out but maybe if you call you nearest yamaha dealer and give it to them, they will be able to find out for you. or maybe check the vin again just to make sure you copied it down correctly. it just takes one 5 to be an S or whatever, 17 digits and they all have to be right ...
