  1. Help I've gotten up here and I can't get down! lol. Very cool ride
  2. I also read what Quadnut said I agree 100% I would drain the fuel tank and get fresh gas & oil and a spark plug their under 3.00 I bought Yamalube 2 stroke oil I think it was aroud 9.00 for a qt. it will last a long time. Also check your air filter a dirty air filter can effect how it runs.
  3. Check the plug for being wet to from raw fuel & yes your right about running rich. The black plastic part is the choke I'm not sure how to check it. I had my daughters off last night and turned the key and it didn't move just a guess until the quad is warm would it move but in this case it would have to be mounted on the carb. The only way I know ours works is by starting the quad and once it warms up it idles down. For the compression I dont know you should be able to do a search and find a range it should be in. With any motor over time it's going to lose some compression over the years.
  4. I hope that it's your trouble mine is simple to get too and after looking at mine it would be tricky to jump it. My thought would be 2 screwdrivers touch the terminals with log screwdrivers and touch the screwdrivers togather.
  5. If you are going to post for help about your quad you need to let us know brand, type, cc's 250, 300, 700 2wd or 4wd and year. Just putting my quad or just a year tells us nothing about your quad. Just like you would not call an auto parts store and say I need spark plugs it's a 2005. Info, Info, Info as much as you can give.
  6. What r u working on 2011 what!!? Is it leaking from carb or the shutoff? I would start by checking all the fuel lines for a hole or crack or just a loose fit or loose hose clamp.
  7. I'm sorry to have to disgree with your mechanic. If the quad was run without oil being pumped to the engine that will cause engine damage. I don't understand how all the oil from the tank got in the cylinder if the pump quit working. Their is a term washed out when too much fuel which in your case fuel & oil over loads the cylinder and can cause damage to the cylinder & rings. Did the mechanic check the spark pulg, comprission on the motor check the carb etc? A 2 stroke should smoke but how bad was or is yours smoking.
  8. Very late good morning qc
  9. It looks like it would have been fun as long as everything goes good.
  10. Did it run good anytime since the pump went out & you've been mixing the fuel & oil? I'm not sure on using chainsaw oil in your quad. I run Yamalube in ours. Did you run the quad without the pump working and how long if you did?

    My 450r

    Looks good
  12. I didn't take it as you were bashing them! I grew up on Honda's. Like I said earlier Their utility quads are their work horse and they out sells their sport quads I would think. Just my thoughts! It seems Yamaha, Suzuki & Kawasaki for the most part had a slight edge over the Honda's. I know growng up only the cr125 & cr250's were their only 2 stroke the other 3 brands were all 2 stroke bikes. I remember honda's XR75 which was their small mx bike and we used to out run our friends XR75's with our SL70's but 1 friend had the YZ80 His seemed faster but we could out ride him and he weighed a lot more than we did he was a plump kid to say it nicely.
  13. They were good too! I was checking them out.
  14. Great photos!
  15. I agree Ajmboy. Mario it's hard to take anything away from Honda I do agree about being bland but to me Honda has always been the most reliable. I feel they tend to market more towards quads to handle working chores around the farm. Not so much to fast performance machines.
  16. Hate to here that. And I don't know how many pics and vids I've seen here on QC of people riding without helments. I even seen one where a young rider had a helment & a very small child in between him and the handle bars with no helment. I have had small tree limbs hit my helment that would hurt or cause a cut if I were not wearing it.
  17. Amjboy how cold was it? Here in Ga. is mid 50's mornings & mid 70's to low 80's in the afternoon.
  18. Did you make sure it is the solenoid or are you guessing it's the problem and trying a new one.
  19. What manufacture do you think has made the most progress & improvements with their ATV's?
  20. My daughter & I went and rode around an hour today. She made it up her first hill climb then we went up a little tuffer hill she did good. It was a good time!! I need to get her back out there and get a pic of her climbing the hill.
  21. Same here for quads but not bikes. I don't understand what their thinking is. The age of a child should not determine what size quad they can ride. Just like my daugher I'm not going to say a 90cc is not enough power for her but the size of the quad is going to be to small for her. She's tall for her age and to me she already looks to big for the quad. With her height she fits on a polaris phoenix 200 we looked at a few weeks ago. I think the gov. or who ever needs to go back and rethink this over. We would be better off to be able to adjust the throttle as were able too now but have something too keep a kid from being able to change the setting. A quad that is to small for a kids size is dangerous to me. I could not see a 14 or 15 year old on a 90cc size quad. When I was 11 I was ridng a Yamaha 175 2 stroke my uncle would ride over to our house. He would let me go ride on the trails While he visited my mom & dad I had a SL70 of my own at the time. I could touch the ground just fine on the Yamaha but the power scared me at first when the front end come off the ground very easy but 15 to 20 mins. I got used to the power & the difference of a 2 stroke I was hooked. So in my long drawn out post here is to say size matters and I went by the rules! If I had it to do over I would have bought my daughter a bigger quad 1 she could ride for at least 4 to 5 years from now. After my 175 addiction My dad bought me a cr 125.
  22. Thank you! The only thing I have found out if you pull off something cool your friends don't get a pic of it they tend to shoot the wipeout or about the most goofy thing you do.(goofy ride) I call it the belly ride It's when you hit the jump and for some reason your feet end up in the air behind you & on landing your hanging on to the handlebars and your belly on the seat while your legs are still hanging off the back of the bike. Then bike gets a case of the wobbles till your front wheel turns is going from right or left and you go down.
  23. Pete's in the closet playing with the camara!
  24. I'm saying good morning tonight because I wont be able to in the morning so here it is! Good morning QC
