Kawasaki bayou 400 no spark

The small conector is the pins I tried to ohm they go directly to the pickup coil

Wow strange. I will double check my bike when I get in and the spec on it. See if that can clear anything up. But there should be a reading in the  500 range I think. I will check my bike see what I get

Ok so I was wrong on the reading.  I’ve attached a pic so you can see the plug and the test result. 

Possibly a broken wire on that trigger coil it’s self where it was soldered during manufacturing ? Defective maybe ? Check the plug as well, and maybe test further down the wire closer to the engine to make sure there is not a stretched/broken wire.   Other then that you may have to pull the casing off and check it out.

Obviously the one I tested is in range so you should get between 100-150 on yours.  Try each one of the wires to ground to see if you get anything. Just a shot in the dark

Great. Hopefully it comes soon. Obviously test it before you install.  Also look for any obvious damage to the old one when you remove it just curious.  Good luck can’t wait to hear how it turns out.

got a temperamental  bayou 400 sometimes starts most time not. 
currently gets one spark once you turn on the key and hit the starter then nothing. turn it off and back on get one spark again and then nothing

anyone run into this?

98 bayou 400 same issue, replaced everything and still no fire, nutral light, motoer turns, no life

single spark like Jason above mentioned is normally due to residual charge in the electrical system exiting the plug, meaning it's not an actual spark, it's just a couple volts provided by the battery.  Most commonly caused by a faulty CDI.

@William White Start a new topic and give as much information as you can.  Pretty good chance someone in this forum can help, several of us have owned quite a few Bayou's over the years.

I dont know what a newstart motor is but he should have it figured out by now. Big red wire and big black wire from the soloenoid to the starter.
