Hola everyone! Newbie to the site and I guess riding quads since I probably forgot how! LOL Well lets just say I'm not as good as most of you are. But looking forward to going to Buena Vista this year and just booked a room and the event. Grew up in Western Colorado (Montrose)... well kinda I guess. Dad worked construction and we moved arouond a bit but at least I graduated HS from there. Looking forward to checking out the colors again.

Retired Navy but still wanted to travel the globe so I came back for more. Post retirement I worked for UPRR in OR, UT, Elko NV and then Pocatello Idaho...all in 3 yrs so I have wandering feet. To people from those areas I send my hellos...and other areas of course. As you can see my by page, I don't take enough time to ride but will do what I can. Sucks that I have to swap a battery out on basically a new ride but it is 3 yrs old and who wants to get stranded.

Well end of shift so gotta go for now. Peace out and ride safe. Those going to BV, see ya there.

When will you be in Buena Vista? I'm from Denver. We are actually going there this weekend. Gotta let me know when you are there I'll ride with you. Thanks for all you do. Come home safe.

Howdy Gents,

Thank you for the welcome aboard! Won't be to BV until the 23rd of Sept. Gotta get my ride all squared away since it hasn't been started since Oct 07. Hope to see you there.

I'll check with Prime and see who he works for. My camp is pretty close to his so we'll see how it works out. He could still be ACDU at 43.

Enjoy, and thanks again. Out

what exactly is your ride?

what make and model is your atv?

Good idea. Signatures are a good thing. I just go too far listing everything. Probably used to the other forums I visit. :willy_nillyc:

Hi, I have been around everything with a motor since I was little, and finally purchased more to get my husband, and kids involved. I have 4 quads I will be searching around for information on. I have two 2002 Suzuki LT80K quads, a 1997 Yamaha Timberwolf 250, and a 1996 Kawasaki Bayou 220. I have had different ones throughout the years, and plan on buying another Yamaha Banshee. I plan on trying to learn more about all of them, so I can customize some of them. I know nothing about them besides how to race them, my dad always took care of the rest, but figured it was time for me to learn.

I am new to this site. I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport I think. Is there a difference between quadsport and quadrunner?

I’m brand new to 4 wheelers and just bought a 1987 Yamaha Moto 4 350. It has good compression and fuel, but no spark. I’ve looked high and low trying to find how to test all the components of the ignition system, but can’t find anything. This has a new CDI box on it, but I suspect it might be the stator. How do I test the stator on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i just picked this up. was told ran fine but overheating issues led to replacing head gasket and head. has not ran since. he is not a mechanic but helped someone else who he could not get back to finish job, got aggravated and put up for sale. i was thinking timing issues. i have 110-120psi on all 3 cylinders so i think valves are correct. dont know about distributor yet. however i have no spark. i have no power going to ignition coil. tried to follow white wire but gets lost in wire harness. does anyone have a wiring diagram? can anyone tell me what conditions have to be met before starting. motor turns over so i would think all safeties are met but you never know.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.
