  1. 125? That's not adult size. My youngest was 7 when he started riding a 300 king quad. He's 9 now and complaining about wanting something bigger. Good advice by all about a training course if neither you or his father have experience. Helmet always. Give us more detail about what it is or post a pic. We might be able to tell if it has some known safety issues. Might have a throttle governor too. Otherwise, live free and ride hard. Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk
  2. Oh, it is. Hundreds of RV`s. People party for days.
  3. We call it snowmachining here. I`ve not got into it much mostly because I wear glasses and they fog up immediately. Also, spend my time and treasure on keeping 5 wheelers functional. It is a great place to ride and those that do, can`t wait for the freeze. The lakes and swaps become play grounds, the rivers: super highways. The big annual event is this: arcticman.com - Home
  4. Near Anchorage, Alaska. A balmy 25F here today. We spent our vacation last spring at Oceanside. Nice area. Chargers...Ok, we can still be friends. GO HAWKS!
  5. My wife has some of the same issues. To solve her throttle thumb getting tired and cold on long rides, she installed a motorcycle style grip throttle on her wheeler. Though that might not be as much of problem for you in CA. Speaking of CA, I hope you are not a 49er fan. Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk
  6. That sounds like a good idea. Did someone suggest this to you? Sent from my Z10 using Tapatalk
  7. I hope I have helped. If nothing else, keeping the thread alive might bring in someone experienced on AC.
  8. Yeah, water pump would be my next guess. Are you getting an overheat light? Asking because if your thermostat is sticking closed, it might be boiling the water trapped in the engine ports. Steam is powerful. Easy to check. Suspend in a pot of water and heat. Should open before boiling.
  9. I`m not familiar with your wheeler. Is your coolant circulating? Perhaps you have a clog. Is it a paper gasket? I use red rtv with paper gaskets.
  10. Welcome Raven. There is a "She Rides" section here too. She Rides! » QUADCRAZY ATV Forums Saw your blog. Live it up! I was a heavy jet airplane mechanic for several years before going into management. One thing is true for all machines, RTFM (Read The Manual). If you can read, you can fix anything.
  11. Why did you change them in the first place? Did you torque everything correctly?
  12. I see you just sell books. Have you considered selling digital downloads?
  13. Attached WDM. First charge your battery, then check for power on the red wire into the ignition switch. If good, turn the key on, check for power out on the orange. If no power on red, check the wire back through to the battery. 1988 QR WDM.pdf
  14. You can search online for a free manual download. 1987-1998 king quad, quad runner. When I get to my computer next I'll attach a page of the the wdm.
  15. OK, first put a full charge on your battery. Then you'll need to run through your ignition circuit wiring. Do you have a wire diagram for it?
  16. You said nothing lights up. Does that mean the you don't have a neutral light too?
  17. Should be two upfront in the battery compartment. Check them with a meter if not visually blown.
  18. Tell the dealer about the Berry Amendment. US DoD must give preference to domestic products. I have not owned either brand, but have worked on a couple of hondas. I am impressed by their quality of build. I also know people who swear by polaris. I recently got a 450 for hunting versus a bigger bore because I wanted good fuel range. But the steep trails I ride on weighted down with meat and gear makes me wish for more horse power. What do you intend to to do with the wheeler?
  19. I dont have any manuals for your machine and dont know how your ignition system is setup but I assume it is like all others. Since you had problems with the stator I would check the pick up is getting the pulse from the rotor to signal the CDI to juice the coil. Also check fuses, wiring and grounds are good. Particularly check connectors for dirt and corrosion. Do you have a wire diagram for this?
  20. New spark plug? Does this have an electric starter? If so, does it crank?
  21. If you are talking about the brake drum periphery seal, I dont see anything in the manual about greasing it. The only source of grease in there would be from your wheel bearing area. I know some Honda models have a drum seal designed to be filled with grease for the purpose of sealing water out and it works well. Perhaps someone thought it try this on yours or you have an after market seal or one for a different wheeler on here. If you dont have evidence of water contamination, then it might be working. Is there any grease on the brake drum surface or shoes? If not, Id say re-grease it as you found it. The shreds of rubber is normal wear as it spins in contact with the brake panel. If it looks excessive, replace it.
