Ok so over the next few days read that manual. I have a feeling it’s not right but hope you are correct. The way I read it it tells me that A and B need to be lined up as well as the T mark on the flywheel. I have a 400 bayou and a 220. You have the 300. There are differences so we need to be sure here. -

So you have it timed this way ? There is a mark on the head itself where A is pointed. -

Def need a game plan smart move. Did you download the manual ? I looked on the manual and it’s telling me otherwise. There is a mark as per the picture I posted. You have to double check against that pic I sent. You have to pull that cover off the sprocket with the 8mm bolts and look to see if there is a mark there like the pic I sent. -

If you are looking at that sprocket housing I’m going to say around 11 o’clock there should be a mark. That mark should be lined up with the tab on the cam. There are marks on each side. One says 220 not yours. The other is for your bike. -

Is there a mark on the head anyplace ? -

I don’t think that’s correct. Can you see the tab/mark on the left top of the head? Where is the mark on that sprocket I can’t see ? -

The small screw hole that you have to take out to see the “T” mark has to be lined up where it needs to be and then the cam marks on the head lined up with the mark on the head. -

I have attached a pic from the manual. The tab (indent) on the sprocket has to be aligned with a mark on the head. Let me know if you have this set that way. I tried to upload a pic it won’t let me upload 🤬🤬🤬! Anyway page 46-47 section 3-12. If not then the timing os out. -
Wow that’s great Info. Thanks for the update. Happy its working good. 👍

This is the tab I’m talking about. There are a few types of floats but they all have some sort of tab that hold the fill needle. -

Ok so let’s review a few things. 1 is the timing correct and not 180 out ? 2 the carb is definitely having an issue. I know you rebuilt it but there is a problem. It could be the tab on the float that’s not set right allowing the bike to keep filling. Do you know the tab I’m talking about ? 3 how does the motor sound when you crank it ? -

That should be ok Range I think is 150 to 170 The carb flooding should have nothing to do with the valves. -

Ok so it might just be a stuck float. That’s the only thing that would cause an over flow condition. Float not coming up to close off fuel. -
A agree with @davefrombc you need that air box on the bike. What is on the bike now ? A small clamp on type air cleaner ?

I would do a quick clean on the carb just to make sure it’s giod to go and nothing’s in any of the jets. It has happened before. 1-3/4 turns out on the fuel air mixture screw from a snug position. Put the air filter back on before you dial it in with the final adjustment. Floats prob stuck. You can try to tap it with the back side of a screwdriver to maybe free it up. -

So timing and valves are good ? If so just re tighten everything good and spray a drop of wd-40 into the cylinder and spin the engine a few times to get the piston up and down the cylinder. Did you put the new rubber rings in the valve cover caps. I like to use a drop of high heat scilicone on the edge of them caps. They leak oil for some reason. lastly after it’s all back together I like to press the start button with no spark plug in to cycle the engine a few times to pump oil up into the head before it fires up so it does not scorch the cam. -

It should be in the manual and if I’m not mistaken it should be 0.010mm but not sure. I will check later when I get home. -

Grab the piston and try to rotate it or put it in gear and spin the wheels But be gentle. -

I hate to say it but I would pull the head again and see if the crank spins. You have to be sure that nothings inside the engine. Habs you tried to spin it both directions. I feel like it would have to be the timing chain. Be sure it’s all the way up and not kinked down below. -

So the piston is jammed inside the cylinder it sounds. I would back the piston out and see if that’s the problem. If the crank spins freely then the piston is jammed inside the head and that’s not good. You can scratch the cylinder walls. Maybe a rings not compressed and sitting in the groove right.
