  1. Hey Rick. Welcome to Quadcrazy. So I seen it posted a problem on a bike you picked up? What did you get and what’s going on ?
  2. Great job! Looking at that manual before tearing into it is a smart move. Take your time. Lable things with painters tape and a sharpie and take a few before pics for reference. Post a few pics of you can.
  3. That’s awesome. 9 hours though !! 🥶 That’s a lot of fire wood! I like when it’s cold out the bikes have a lot of bark to them and run great. Octane stays high in colder weather and the fuel burn is so much better so gasoline engines typically run better! But that’s great stuff @Airborne
  4. Yuuuuuup! 100% aftermarket. Maybe look into eBay for an oem used head.
  5. Welcome to Quadcrazy, hopefully it’s not a cracked head and maybe just a head gasket. New gasket kit prob about $40 for the entire engine on amazon. As far as the fan switch I’m not a “fan” of that. No pun intended. Unless that fan is wired to come on and shut off with the ignition instead of a switch I would be worried. I would actually look into a replacement temp sensor that brings the fan on and look into the wiring diagram to see if you can restore the fan circuit to factory operation. Other then that you should be good to go. The bike appears to be in decent shape. Merry Christmas 🎄
  6. That is amazing! Off to a great start for the 2019! Merry Xmas #Quadcrazy
  7. Haha I know the feeling. I will try and send you a picture of my garage later!! Have a great x mas.
  8. Maybe something to explore for the spring. Have a great day also.
  9. Exactly! Pack the coolers with some drinks, lunch etc, hell I would prob throw a bbq on the trailer!! And a cooler full of 🥩 🍔 🍗 🌭 and cook right there ! Meeting everyone in person and riding would be a blast.
  10. Yea I hear you about flipping it, not my thing really though. I have a bad habit of holding on to them after I fix them. But I’ve let some go only with the next bike in the picture. But I’m a stickler for figuring out exactly what’s going on or it just racks my brain. At least you are coming away with a good amount of new knowledge from digging into the bike. You did great with the project. 👍
  11. It would be cool this spring if the New York, PA and NJ Quadcrazy people and anyone else that could make the trip plan a day to ride. Maybe find a place ? Trailer up and ride the day away!
  12. Merry Christmas happy new year! 🎄🎁🍺🍸🍷🥂🥃
  13. Me too. 👍 great channel ! 2019 let’s hope you have double !
  14. Ok so it’s most likely coming from the exhaust valve then. So what’s your next move ? Are you going to tare into it ? Also how is it running over all ? Carburetor etc ?
  15. That is a great feature!!
  16. There is a relay by the battery. Maybe even two of them. Have you tested voltage going into any of them?
  17. Check the ignition, it’s possable that the contacts inside the ignition burnt up a little bit. See if you have voltage coming into the ignition switch and not going out when it’s turned to the on position.
  18. The voltage spike that you see is the draw on the battery when the engine is cranking. My guess is the pick up coil is prob on its way out. And since you have to open that cover up to replace it I would replace the stator coil as well. Especially If you replaced the cdi with a known working one and it didn’t correct the problem. Have a look at the rectifier ad well.
  19. Was this problem an ongoing issue or only since it’s been bored out ?
  20. Look and see if there is a neutral safety switch in the system.
  21. You are welcome. That’s one way to do it ! Thank god mine came out, I also had a Polaris Phoenix 200 I recently sold had a similar plug with the slice to remove with a big screwdriver and did the same thing. Not a smart design.
  22. Could be but I think it would still be adjustable to the point where the noise would be less and you would know for sure that is the rocker. An old trick my father taught me and it’s going to sound crazy is to take a broom stick while the engine is running and put your ear on one end of the stick and put the other end of the stick in diffent areas where you think the noise is. You will hear the noise through the stick. You can localize the noise and narrow it down to one area. Sounds crazy but the old timers did it.
