  1. Yea I know but I always keep a small gas tank from a lawn mower and a 2 foot piece of gas line in my garage. I use it for things like this. It’s a good item to keep around.
  2. And that’s it ? Just trying to get a manual ? Lol. How about hey I’m so and so great web site etc !! Lol just here for the manual. 👎
  3. Sold the Bayou 400 for a really good profit and found a good bike for my oldest! I’ve been buying old, beat up low $ fixing and selling for good profit. So far I’ve done pretty well. Picked up this 2009 rancher!
  4. Hey @patrick st-james welcome to Quadcrazy all the best!
  5. So try to gravity feed the carb. Hook a hose up to a small funnel or tank and to the carb and hold it above the carb and see is that works.
  6. That would be good on the axle. I would think then it’s just a matter of lining up the splines and sending it in. Maybe get the front end off the ground and try it. Spray some carb cleaner into the carb see if she fires up a bit. Then you will clearly know it’s a fuel problem.
  7. One thing you have to be aware of when lifting anything with axels and universal joints is when the angle changes on the universal joint it puts Pressure on the joint and or could cause it to rub/grind. For instance if you put a lift kit in your truck you would have to slightly rotate your axle to accommodate the body being raised up. The angle/degree changes with the lift. So it’s possible that’s causing the problem with noise or resistance. As far as the engine not firing you said you have spark and fuel ? How’s compression? Any blockages in the intake manifold?
  8. Hey @Fyko welcome to Quadcrazy. That really stinks man about loosing the valve. Was the piston damaged? Also have you looked at the timing chain tensioner to see if anything was going on there ? Also maybe just a stretched timing chain? I would also check the other cylinder as well if your going to tare into it. Never know. Good luck brother
  9. You are going to test the stator first and also the regulator/rectifier, secondary etc. unfortunately you have to go through each item with an multi meter/ohmmeter. Then hope the cdi is not fried as well.
  10. So what’s the status now. Does the bike crank, all lights come on instrument panel ?
  11. That’s great. Good luck and keep up posted! 👍
  12. Hey @Spartacus Stroppel Welcome to Quadcrazy. I’ve tried the China carbs. Here’s my take. They look great, exact same as far as appearance, have all the sensors and choke set ups. But they don’t work 100%. There are flat spots in the throttle when you ride, any time I’ve tried them (twice) it’s been where I would say 80% good. How can the seal kit be so expensive for the oem carb ? Have you checked eBay and Amazon? Also eBay for a used oem carb?
  13. Let’s see it !! Love older bikes.
  14. Ok I’m sorry I thought it was full time 4 wheel. I would still lift off the ground and see what it does in gear just as a starting point. See what happens.
  15. Have you checked the tires for wear? 4x4 bikes have to have the same size tires all around obviously. But i had a friend that had a similar issue. He rode the bike on pavement and concrete etc. turns out the front tires wore down pretty good and it put a strain on the four wheel drive due to the size of the front tires being smaller then the rear tires. The revolutions were not the same. And the gears had a good amount of stress on them. I would put the bike on some blocks and put it in gear and let the tires spin. See if it happens while all four wheels are in the air.
  16. Could be a number of things. One being the alkaline in the coolant, second could be the soft metal being eaten away from electrolysis, or just improper tightening of the head and allowing coolant to slip by and start eating away at the soft metal. you could try to put two new head gaskets back In place but my guess it will fail eventually. I would try and locate a used oem head maybe on eBay and go with that. If it was an oem head you could have it milled down a hair. I just don’t know how an aftermarket head will work out with that.
  17. Looks good to me. The racks are worth $250 alone. So it’s a win. I will take a look at the manual and see if I can post a few pages for you. Top end right?
  18. Ok so you need 10 posts first to be able to download a manual. You should be there soon and be able to do so. It’s worth the it. This site is invaluable when it comes to help and information. I have a newer 220 that I’m currently tearing into so I can be of some help. But there are others on this forum that will chime in and add some info.
  19. There should be a manual here. How does the oil look ? Fluids etc ?
  20. I hear ya. Maybe a timing issue and the valves may be hitting the piston. Ya never know. But heck if the plastics are good then they should be worth a few bucks. Maybe part it out if it’s a bigger issue with the engine.
