  1. Ok good so that eliminates that. I think your next move is back to the fuel. I know you soaked/vibrated the carburetor good but sometimes the clogs are not as easy as soaking and if something got wedged in like a small piece of dirt or rust. You may want to take that carb off and take a pice of wire and clean all the jets and ports out good. I like to take a piece of brake cable from a bike and separate the strands and use one of the strands. It fits right in the little holes. Blow it out with air and re assemble. Make sure the float is good and set right and not closing to early. Double check the gas petcock on the tank and make sure it’s clear and free flowing. This will eliminate any fuel delivery problems or questions. Put a fresh plug in and see what happens. If this clears it up great if not you have to start looking at spark issues or a breakdown in the ignition system. Double check that your kill switch is not faulty and shorting or a loose contact or full of water.
  2. Ahhhh I got you. There was a member not to long ago that asked that question and I think we pointed him in the direction of a marine radio mount. It’s water proof cover is ideal and it can house a bunch of different types of radios. Check them out on amazon.

  5. If it’s been taken apart already you might be fighting a loosing battle. Meanwhile I would start looking up a used one on eBay and be ready to order if yours is beyond repair. Like I said before your committed at this point so might as well finish it right. Nice work so far brother.
  6. Nice work. So the sensor appears to be good. Now all you need to do is let it run and get to temp and see if the fan comes on. Just keep in mind that if that thermostat is not opening then the coolant will not circulate and never reach the temp and bring the fan on! So be aware of that. If you have an infrared thermometer you can aim and point at the head of the engine and the radiator to see what the temp differences are between the two and also check as the engine gets hotter to where the sensor temp that brings the fan on. So if that sensor closes at 186 deg and your shooting the head of the engine with the thermometer as it nears that 186 or whatever that sensor is designed at then the fan should come on. As far as the kill switch goes there are contacts inside, they are either dirty or just shot! You can test the switch with a tester on ohms/continuity. Trace the wires coming from the handle bar. There should be plugs right under the handlebars. Unplug the kill switch wires, connect your tester to the wires coming from the switch and flip the kill switch back and forth a few times you should get a reading on the tester when the switch is in the off position. My guess is it’s dirty inside. Open it up spray the sh** out of it with contact cleaner.
  7. Wow they are in some rough shape! You may be better off combining both and making one solid bike. The green on is that a 300? I had the 400 in that model and it was a beast.

  9. On the throttle in the handlebars ? If so open it up and see what’s going on with the wires. I believe it’s a normally open circuit. It may be bad. There is a plastic partition that separates the two contacts. Sometimes that falls apart or water is inside the throttle compartment. Separate the wires or disconnect them and see how it runs.

  12. Only other thing I can think of is the throttle controller. Are there two wires coming from that throttle ? You would have to take the two screws off of the top of the throttle on the handle bars and see. I think that bike is to early to have the rev limiter on it but let me know.
  13. The “I” mark should line up with a tab at the top of the head at 12 o’clock.

  15. It truly was nuts to see this work. I did it and the bike ran. After a day it was not running. Heated it up again and boom ran great. So I added silicone and it was all good after that. I changed it anyway because I felt the possibility of moisture getting in could ruin a weekend of fun. But it’s a great trick to diagnose a damp cdi!

  17. Double check the timing. It’s possible the timing jumped a few teeth.
  18. Have you tried to pull the spark plug out, turn the key on and test for spark by pulling the starter cord? There is or should be a compression relief lever on the right side of the top of the cylinder head. Have you checked the kill switch? If all of that checks out there is a neutral safety switch you would locate and test with a piece of wire. On the left side of the engine where the shifter is, on the top of the motor casing cover in that area you should see two wires coming out of the engine. One is red and one is a light green. Unplug the green wire and put a jumper wire from that green on the harness side to the black (negative) terminal on the battery or any good ground point on the frame. Turn your key on and see what happens.
  19. The cdi is a sealed until. And it’s that way for a reason. It hates moisture! Any moisture gets in and it’s dead. I learned this a little while back while I was putzing around with my old cdi and went on YouTube to see what anyone has to say. One guy pointed me in the direction of putting the cdi in my oven. It worked believe it or not! Check this out.
  20. Those should be a 10 millimeter bolt by about a half inch in length.

The new stereo mounts are easy and very cool. They connect with your smart phone and connect via Bluetooth. I picked up a really nice winch on Amazon for $90 bucks led lights are a dime a dozen and work well. Any help you need ask away.
