  1. I will take a look at the wiring diagram when i hey home. Maybe I can help you sort it out. Mean time post some pics of the wires by the radiator.
  2. Ok that makes sense now. That’s not the correct switch for that machine. I would order a new switch or a used one from eBay. An original equipment manufacturer switch (Yamaha). The wires should all be color coded and match what wires are on the harness. I’m assuming someone put a cheaper switch on the bike because of the price of the right one. I looked at a few switches on eBay and they run about $90 bucks. If the bike is in good shape I would do it.
  3. Well after all it’s only the BRAKES!!!!! I would 100% get that master cylinder/handle and put it on. You can find used ones on eBay. Might as well finish it off and make it right.
  4. Hey Jeff. Welcome to Quadcrazy. Was the bike running good up until a certain point and did this just happen out of nowhere ? im thinking the main needle on the throttle slide may be set to high. But if it was never tampered with them there should be no reason to move it. Check that it’s not bent, check the setting on the air fuel mixture screw also. It may be ruining a little rich. My guess is your problem will most likely be an adjustment on the air fuel screw.
  5. What kind of carburetor is on that machine. Reason I’m asking is there is a post out there about possible print at the needle valve that could be causing a problem. It was on a Mikuni carburetor. Maybe a long shot but hey stranger things have happened. This was posted by @Freezeman and some good info. As far as the float maybe having a leak I would def check that out. I just came across this problem on a machine. If you haven’t completely broke down the carburetor then do so ASAP.
  6. That’s great news. I was about to reach out to see how you were making out. Great job brother. Ride safe.
  7. I love it, great info on this. You would think that this would have been a bigger issue with Polaris and complaints as well as a fix Having that o-ring set is very handy as well. Good stuff brother.
  8. Well done brother, some sh** makes no sense sometimes but hey as long as it’s working who cares. Def post some pics and ride safe!
  9. Ugh I don’t know about that pal. Maybe in weld at the least! Fuel problem fixed ?
  10. Very cool. My brother is in Carlton. I’m heading out there for the first time this coming March. Looking forward to it.
  11. So it was the same exact issue as the other one you fixed ?
  12. Are you sure of the year ? That picture/part is for a 2006
  13. Take a look at this post.
  14. It should be on the left side of the handle bar it’s red. It’s right above the start button. It may be missing or the red switch cover is gone? Can you post a pic of that left side of the controls on the handlebars ? Should look like the pic attached.
  15. Have you checked the fluids ? What’s the reverse procedure on that bike ? Is there a brake lever that needs to be pulled etc ?
  16. I would think there is only one switch to turn the engine off. There is a key switch as well. Have you located both? There should be nothing more.
  17. That’s a great find, great share and some good information. A bit scary out there and she dies like that but hey it is what it is. Did you have any tools with you ?
  18. Holy crap @Adrian Ciotinga I just realized how far this post goes back!!!! I want to take a second and let you know how far you have come and that I am proud of you for sticking with it!!!!! Nice work..... That crack you see is called a sight glass on a master cylinder. It’s supposed to be a sealed system so the crack is no good on that system. What I would do is look for a used one on eBay or new, however you want to go. It needs to be replaced. It gets installed and you will need to add brake fluid and bleed it out properly. We will help you along doing so. Go ahead and locate that part, if you cant find it let us know and we will help. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F272771130879
  19. Hey @Lost and Confused welcome to Quadcrazy, what part of Oregon are you from ?
  20. So @David Cameron I had some free time today to research your problem and found some information on your bike. I also spoke to a buddy of mine who is an atv mechanic at my Honda/Yamaha dealer as to a possible solution. He also confirmed my findings. That thermostat housing is in fact casted into the cylinder head. Not the motor housing or casing. Terrible design I would think on Yamahas behalf since that is a pressed in hose connector into that cylinder head made out of a galvanized steel. That small hose is a coolant bypass that allows some of the water to circulate through the engine allowing the engine two to stay evenly tempered between the two parts of the cooling system until the thermostat opens. It’s a common problem with rotting out when there is not enough maintenance and changing of the coolant in the system. Possible solutions are as per Yamaha mechanics: Remove the cylinder head, drill out the old broken stem. Tap the hole with a 3/8” or 1/4” thread tap/die and install a new brass threaded hose stem. Teflon and thread it in and you should be good to go. The second way is to send the head out to a machine shop and they will remove the old stem and press a new one in but finding a machine shop to do that is a specialty item. The other option is to find a used or new cylinder on eBay and install it. I’ve looked on eBay there are a few. In my opinion all options suck! I have attached a few pics of the cylinder for you as well as some brass fittings that will work. Hope this helps. Good luck
  21. Not sure what edition your bike is but here is the parts diagram for that year. It looks like it’s a small housing that has to be changed. I cant imagine finding a stem and having it pressed in let alone getting the remnants of the old stem out. https://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/5003925af870021f60a0da89/water-pump This website may help you find the parts
  22. Great bikes! I’m a Honda fan as well.
