  1. Support BRC through e-bay. BlueRibbon Coalition is excited to announce our third annual Christmas Auction to save trails and keep public lands FOR the public instead of FROM the public. The eBay bidding will start December 1st, 2011. BRC Auctioneer Del Albright said, "I'm stoked; this auction is kickin' it for public lands and waterways. Businesses from all over have donated products and goodies to make this year's auction a record-breaker." Raceline Wheels and WARN Industries started off filling the virtual storeroom shelves already. Get ready to see Raceline Monster Diamond Beadlocks and a WARN winch to start with. More partner-contributing businesses will include a long list of recognizable names. Stay tuned. BRC lists hundreds of items on eBay (as donated by supporting businesses) with all proceeds benefiting their national efforts to save trails and riding areas for our continued access. "Thanks to the vendors donations, not only is each winning bidder getting some awesome product, they are also contributing to our winning team," said Greg Mumm, Executive Director of BRC. "This annual eBay auction significantly beefs up our ability to fight back," Greg added. My shameless plug: The BlueRibbon Coalition is a national recreation group that champions responsible recreation, and encourages individual environmental stewardship. With members in all 50 states, BRC is focused on building enthusiast involvement with organizational efforts through membership, outreach, education, and collaboration among recreationists.
  2. I've seen a few good ideas around about how to HELP prevent a trailer from getting stolen but when it comes to security, too much is never enough. I figured we could all benefit by learning from one another what measures are in place elsewhere so jump in any time to contribute your idea. Here are few I'm aware of Tongue lock Wheel locks Take the wheels off Chain it to something stationary Motion lights Video surveillance signs posted Booby traps GPS tracking device
  3. Thanks Gunny. And thanks for slowing down enough that we could see the scenery!
  4. With Thanksgiving on the horizon, I wanted to balance out all the threads with bikes not starting or running by giving thanks that mine do.
  5. Where is this?
  6. I know this site's called Quad crazy but TRIKES RULE!
  7. Do your bikes that see deep water like that have issues with their electronics?
  8. Ride it more. Sounds like a sarcastic joke but I assure you it's not. Start it up, warm it up and find an excuse to ride it a little... take it down the driveway to check the mail borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbor get a snow plow mounted and keep your driveway plowed put a snowmobile suit on the wife and take her out for pizza Seriously though, finding reasons to start and run the quad is really the easiest way around the winter fuel challenges. Running the quad more often will also prevent you from being that guy asking this question when Spring comes..."Hey guys, I let my quad sit in the shed for 9 months of winter and now I think the battery is dead. The dealer said it'll be $90 for a new one...can this be right?" By the way, yes, that's right.
  9. The fast idle could be from fooling with the air screw to compensate for the additional fuel. Quadnut hit it on the head with the two turns comment. If it won't start, idle and run clean with the air screw approx two turns then one or more of the circuits (choke, pilot, main) is ill-adjusted to the needs of that engine. Start there.
  10. Yeah it's good to have more 2 stroke folks around :coolgleamAc:

    fall 2008

A lot of peopl say that aout 2 strokes...glad they don't have to race them anymore. I can understand why too, I suppose. I've been riding and racing 2strokes since the late 80's but only 450s sine 2008...and I ca ride the 450s much harder and faster. I like riding the 2strokes more but if there's a finish line, the 450s seems to get me there faster...

Please count Mrs. Senator and I in on the signed pic...before you're too famous for us little people!
  16. No Cheriah, it's not Mt Hood. That's Mt. Thielsen, near Diamond Lake. Same mountain range, but a little south from Mt. Hood! Mount Thielsen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  17. I'm a 2stroke guy so jetting carbs is second nature to me while 4stroke stuff like valves, cams, and unnecessary electronics I tend not to be well versed in. I'll try to help where I can though. Full choke should be giving it a great deal more fuel than it can handle, especially after you've been riding it awhile. If it's running well with the choke on: ...another circuit in the carb may be restricted and the choke is making up for it, or... ...the jetting is too lean and the additional fuel supplied by the open choke circuit is required to make up for it, or... ...it could be some 4 stroke thing that someone else will have to chime in about
