Hey all, Just picked up two dead mid-90's Kawasaki Bayou 220s for $250. Already have one running on starting fluid and it sounds healthier than expected. Moving onto a thorough carb cleaning and refurb of the brakes next. These are our first ATVs and we're excited to make family memories on simple, approachable machines on our newly acquired land. In case anyone reads this, is it worth rushing to 10 posts here to get the Bayou 220 FSM if I already have a Bayou 250 FSM? Thanks, Matt1 point

Hello there! I'm new to the forums, but not new to the hobby. Admittedly though, I'm not super mechanically capable. But usually my contributions result in the problems I've attempted to solve via help with the forums and I will post my solutions. Or it I've solved a problem myself, I will post about it and how I solved it. I've owned a lot of used (ever bought new) ATV's from: Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Polaris. From sport to 4x4, and have developed all my biased opinions of each brand. Well that's my intro in a nutshell!1 point

Hey all, from SW Virginia here. I just picked up a '01 Bombardier Quest 650 on the cheap (seller couldn't get it to start). After correctly plumbing the fuel pump (new pump the prior owner installed but had the hoses going backwards lol) and cleaning the carb and fuel tank, repaired all the batt - and batt+ connections she lives!! I had swore to the wife unit I wouldn't be dragging another "project" home but I couldn't pass it up, it had new tires, new starter, new fuel pump and low hrs. All's good after she took it for a ride! 😆 It rides like a tank, very stable and tons of power.1 point

Hello from Bristol Va!! Retired combat vet who is just too darn worn out to keep hiking to the top of the hills here, so I grabbed a fakebook marketplace 800 buck 2001 Bombardier Quest 650 that needed fixed up from all the "fix'n" the prior owner did. UGH!! I plan to use it as a workhorse in my woods and pastures and take it exploring in the National forests and state parks around here. Be seeing ya' around, Mike1 point

Welcome all! Mehim, what is your budget? Newbie, I'd go get a battery tender from harbor freight or some place like that. It's not really meant to be a battery charger but it will slowly charge the battery. That will tell you if it's a parasitic draw or a different problem.1 point

I'm jobles09, or Jay for short. New to the forum. I'm here cause I'm looking for wiring diagrams for my 1988 suzuki quadrunner 250 4x4. Got it from a friend. Didn't run when I got it. Has been flawless for over a year. Took it on the trail fist time, and it developed a short in the neutral / staring system. That's why I'm here. 4 wheeler is told to just got buy this info. Would like to find a service manual if it was still possible. Anyhow 👋. Cant wait to see the responses.1 point

Hi -- I am from upstate NY and have a 1998 Polaris Big Boss 500 6x6. Best wheelbarrow I ever bought. Easiest way to bring a load of wood in to the shed. Great tool to launch the sail and fishing boats. Pull the dock out for the winter. Move top soil. I use it all the time.1 point

Hey all! I'm Andy from Wisconsin. My son just got his ATV cert and he and I are ready to hit the trails. I got him a 96 Polaris xPlorer 300. So I'm sure it'll need work here and there, so that's why I joined. I've found other forums (auto & hunting) that have been a wealth of knowledge. I'm sure I'll find the same here. Keep the muddy side down!1 point

The stator is good, I checked that. I got the specs on line. I'm thinking maybe a broken wire , I will send some pictures this morning.1 point

With that Yamaha with no spark, the stator coils need to be tested. I've seen pickup/source coils fail on them a few times.1 point

Scarecrow, from Oklahoma, next year moving to my property in Eastern Arkansas to build an off grid homestead to live and teach my kids the old ways while I'm young enough to physically be able to do so. We have an 80's big red honda 3, an 03 honda rancher 350 4x4, and my newest project a kawasaki bayou 300 4x4 I'm trying to figure out.1 point

I'm from Casper Wy and my neighbor gave me an abandoned 1995 Polaris magnum 425 4X4 that's been sitting outside for at least 5 years. It's been Bubba'd quite a bit and I'm just trying to get it going again. Would be a great utility quad for my property.1 point

Hi, Pär from south Sweden I have a '94 Kawasaki KLF300 Bayou in pretty good condition, however she's a bit grumpy right now and I'm doing my best to get her running again with the help of you and Youtube. I'll make sure to contribute as much as I can, I'm not a mechanic, but my troubleshooting process will in itself be worth documenting for future reference 😎 Here's a photo from last summer a couple of weeks after I got her, so far she's been going for 900 hours, so quite a lot more to give! / Pär, Sweden1 point
